This is a dedicated lightwind model for riders who want to make the most of days when others stay on the beach. The Cross LW feels intuitive and steady in flight, which helps with take-offs, speed control, and staying on foil when the wind is inconsistent. It works both for relaxed freeriding and for building pumping technique and longer upwind tacks.
2026 updates: lighter leading edge and improved flight
For 2026, the flight dynamics were refined by reducing the number of segments in the leading edge. The result is straightforward: lower weight and a smoother aerodynamic arc. This improves pumping efficiency, enhances drift (when the wing needs to fly neutrally, for example on swell), and gives the Cross LW a more balanced flying character. The three-strut frame remains, keeping the span compact and the power delivery predictable.
Boom and control
The Cross LW 2026 is designed around the pistol grip carbon boom with a separable construction. You get handling and stiffness close to a one-piece boom, but with easier packing for travel. In lightwind, the more direct control is especially noticeable when pumping and switching hand positions.
Profile stability and durability
The proven BAT Panel Layout keeps the profile clean and stable, limits canopy stretch over time, and distributes loads efficiently. Combined with robust frame and canopy materials (ForceTec Dacron, VoltNova, and VoltNova+ on the trailing edge), the Cross LW stays crisp and efficient even after heavy use. Kevlar reinforcements in key areas add protection for frequent launches, landings, and board contact.
Tuning and visibility
Separate air cells (leading edge and struts) inflated through two SUP-style valves let you fine-tune pressures to your preference - you can adjust how stiff and “springy” the wing feels. Windows along the strut improve awareness on the water, which is a real benefit on larger lightwind sizes.
