Extra-wide boom tail for large race sails
The Unifiber Carbon V2 Outside Extra Wide Tail +50 (220-270) - Elite is designed for large modern race sails that require substantial clearance at the rear of the boom.
The inner boom tail width is 29 cm. The extra-wide profile provides enough space for deep sail shapes and helps prevent the sail from pressing against the boom under high load.
Elite pre-preg carbon construction
The boom tail belongs to the Carbon Elite range and is made from high-grade pre-preg carbon. The construction is focused on very high stiffness at the lowest practical weight.
Reduced flex in the rear section of the boom helps maintain a stable sail profile and provides more direct feedback during high-speed sailing.
Outside Tail construction
This model uses an Outside Tail design, meaning the boom tail slides over the outside of the boom body.
This solution helps reduce rear-end weight and swing weight. That is particularly useful with large race rigs, where lower inertia improves control during manoeuvres.
The boom tail diameter is 38 mm.
Pulley system
The boom tail features a pulley system at the clew for smooth and precise outhaul adjustment.
It can be used with an adjustable outhaul system, allowing sail trim to be changed while sailing and matched to changing conditions.
220-270 cm range
The +50 cm adjustment range corresponds to a 220-270 cm boom configuration.
This setup is intended for very large race sails where both boom length and sufficient clearance for a deep sail profile are important.
Configure Me
The Carbon V2 Outside Extra Wide Tail +50 - Elite is part of the Unifiber Configure Me modular boom system. Compatible components can be replaced, renewed or upgraded individually without replacing the complete boom.
Secure locking
Double Pin Locks are mounted directly on the boom tail.
The twin-pin system securely holds the selected length and helps minimise unwanted movement under high loads.
Low weight for its size
The boom tail weighs 1.03 kg. Considering its large dimensions and 29 cm inner width, this helps keep rear-end swing weight relatively low.
