HD aluminium boom body with V-Grip
The Unifiber Alloy Modular Body V-Grip - HD is designed for riders who want the durability of aluminium with higher stiffness and more direct sail feedback.
Its key feature is the V-Grip profile. The 26 x 33 mm cross-section follows the natural shape of the fingers and palm, keeping the hand-contact area slim while adding structural stiffness.
26 x 33 mm V-Grip
The V-Grip profile feels different from a conventional round or oval boom grip.
The 26 mm dimension on the hand-contact side makes the boom easier to hold, while the larger 33 mm dimension adds stiffness without requiring an oversized grip.
This shape can improve comfort during longer sessions while maintaining a direct feel. As with any shaped grip, the V-Grip profile is also a matter of personal preference.
T8 aluminium HD construction
The body is made from T8 aluminium in an HD - Heavy Duty configuration.
Additional internal reinforcement and 1.7 mm tube walls increase resistance to flex and intensive use.
The boom arm curves are designed to minimise deflection under load, giving the V-Grip body very high stiffness for an aluminium construction.
Monocoque Boom Body
All versions use monocoque construction.
The continuous body improves load distribution and reduces play compared with more complex multi-piece designs. Combined with the V-Grip profile, it provides a stiff and stable base for a complete boom setup.
140 and 160 sizes - C-shape
The 140 and 160 models use C-shape geometry.
The compact outline works well for wave, bump & jump and freeride sailing, where control, frequent hand movement and active sail handling are important.
Maximum inner body width:
140 - 38 cm
160 - 43 cm
200 size - Regular Shape
The 200 version uses a Regular Shape and has a maximum inner body width of 49 cm.
Its longer and wider geometry is better suited to larger freeride and freerace sails, where stiffness at greater boom lengths becomes especially important.
Compatible with HD boom tails
All sizes are designed to work with compatible boom tails using a 22.5 mm diameter.
Double Pin Locks are mounted on the boom body and securely hold the tail at the selected length.
High-density EVA
High-density EVA is used on the front arch.
This area is particularly exposed to abrasion during regular use, so the more durable grip material helps improve long-term wear resistance.
Only compatible with Modular Boom Head
The body is compatible exclusively with the Unifiber Modular Configure Me Boom Head.
The modular construction allows the same boom head to be transferred quickly between compatible bodies without tools.
Configure Me
The Alloy Modular Body V-Grip - HD is part of the Unifiber Configure Me system.
The boom head, body and tail can be selected and replaced separately. This makes it possible to create several boom configurations with fewer components and replace only the worn or damaged part when necessary.
