V-Grip for longer and faster sessions
The Unifiber Alloy Modular - HD V-Grip 140-190 is designed for freeride and freerace sailors who want a stiff boom while reducing hand and forearm fatigue during longer sessions.
The boom arms use a 26 x 33 mm V-Grip profile. Its shape follows the natural position of the fingers and palm, which can provide a more relaxed hold than a conventional round tube. The slim 26 mm dimension makes the boom easier to wrap the hand around, while the V-shaped profile also adds structural integrity and provides more direct feedback from the sail.
The V-Grip feels noticeably different from a standard round grip, so comfort will also depend on individual preference and hand position.
Reinforced HD T8 aluminium construction
The boom body is made from T8 aluminium with 1.7 mm tube walls. The increased wall thickness of the HD construction improves stiffness and durability compared with standard aluminium booms.
The boom arms are shaped to minimise deflection under load. Combined with the V-Grip profile, this provides better sail control and more direct power transfer during fast and powered-up sailing.
Modular Boom Head
The boom is equipped with the Modular Boom Head, designed to provide a stiff and direct connection to the mast.
The head allows axial movement, helping it align correctly with the boom position on the mast. RDM and SDM adapters are included, allowing the boom to be used with both common mast diameters.
The HD Modular version also includes optional performance bolts, which can be used to further increase connection stiffness.
Monocoque construction
The boom uses a monocoque body with a continuous arm structure running through the front section.
This layout improves load distribution, reduces movement at connection points and increases overall stiffness.
140-190 cm range
This version has a 140-190 cm adjustment range and is primarily suited to smaller and medium-sized freeride and freerace sails.
The maximum inner body width is 38 cm, while the inner tail width is 12 cm. The boom body uses a C-shape profile designed to work well with modern sail outlines.
Loop & Go
The tail uses the Loop & Go system for quick and simple outhaul attachment.
Boom length is adjusted with Double Pin Locks mounted on the boom body. The two pins securely hold the tail at the selected length.
Durable finish
High-density EVA is used around the front grip section to improve abrasion resistance in areas exposed to frequent wear.
The anodised tail improves corrosion resistance and durability, particularly for riders who regularly sail in salt water.
Inlaid & Embossed graphics are integrated into the grip surface, making them more resistant to wear than conventional surface printing.
