Slimmer grip and aluminium monocoque construction
The Unifiber Essentials Alu Tapered Body is designed to provide a more comfortable grip while retaining the durability of an aluminium boom body.
The grip and harness line area is reduced to 26 mm, making the boom easier to hold and helping reduce hand and forearm fatigue during longer sessions.
26 mm tapered grip
The slimmer grip section is the main difference compared with the standard Essentials Alu Body.
The 26 mm diameter works well for wave, freeride and slalom sailing, where frequent hand movement and a secure grip are important.
The maximum outer body diameter is 29 mm, so the rear section retains a larger cross-section to support stiffness.
T8 aluminium
The body is made from T8 aluminium with 1.6 mm tube walls.
This is the standard Essentials construction, focused on a practical balance of weight, durability and price. It is not as stiff as the thicker-walled HD versions, but is well suited to regular recreational, freeride and more performance-oriented sailing.
Monocoque Boom Body
All versions use monocoque construction.
The continuous arm structure reduces play compared with more complex multi-piece designs and helps improve overall boom stiffness and durability.
Slightly wider rear section
The Essentials Alu Tapered Body uses a modern outline with a slightly wider rear section.
This provides more clearance for deeper modern sail profiles and helps reduce contact between the sail and boom. As a result, the sail can maintain its intended shape more effectively under load.
C-shape and Regular Shape
The 140 and 160 sizes use a C-shape suited to smaller and medium-sized rigs.
The 180 version uses a Regular Shape with a larger inner width, making it better suited to bigger freeride and slalom sails.

Compatible with Essentials Inside Tails
All sizes are designed to work with Essentials Inside Tails using a 25.7 mm diameter.
Double Pin Locks are mounted on the boom body and securely hold the compatible boom tail at the selected length.
Only compatible with Modular Boom Head
The body is compatible exclusively with the Unifiber Modular Configure Me Boom Head.
The modular construction allows the same boom head to be transferred quickly between different compatible bodies, reducing the number of complete booms required in a quiver.
Configure Me
The Essentials Alu Tapered Body is part of the Unifiber Configure Me system.
The boom head, body and tail can be selected and replaced separately. This simplifies servicing, makes it easier to expand a setup and can also reduce the amount of equipment needed for travel and storage.
