HD carbon construction for more demanding sailing
The Unifiber Carbon V2 Ergo - HD range is designed for windsurfers who want greater stiffness, durability and more direct sail feedback than aluminium booms can provide, without moving to the lighter Elite construction.
The boom body uses a 70% pre-preg carbon lay-up. The reinforced HD construction handles regular high loads well, reduces boom arm flex and provides a more stable feel in gusts and during powered-up sailing.
Monocoque construction and reinforced tube walls
All versions use a Monocoque Boom Body with a continuous arm structure. This improves load distribution, reduces unwanted movement through the front section and supports overall boom stiffness.
Tube wall thickness varies depending on size:
140-200, 160-220 and 170-220 cm - 2.2 mm
190-240 cm - 2.5 mm
220-270 cm - 2.8 mm
The larger versions are therefore further reinforced to handle the higher loads generated by bigger freerace and race sails.
Ergo Boom Head
This version is equipped with the Ergo Boom Head and its classic single-hinge lever. The mechanism is straightforward and familiar to use, allowing quick attachment to the mast and easy clamping adjustment.
The head provides axial movement, helping it align correctly with the boom position on the mast.
RDM and SDM adapters are included, allowing the boom to fit both common mast diameters.
The Ergo Head is a good choice for riders who prefer a traditional and quick boom attachment system rather than the maximum connection stiffness offered by the Modular Boom Head.
Ergonomic grip matched to boom size
The boom arms use an oval profile that sits naturally in the hand and helps improve comfort during longer sessions.
Grip dimensions vary by size:
140-200 and 160-220 cm - 26 x 27 mm
170-220 cm - 27 x 29 mm
190-240 and 220-270 cm - 29 x 30 mm
The smaller versions offer a slimmer hold, while the larger tube sections support stiffness on longer booms under higher loads.
High-density EVA around the front grip section improves abrasion resistance during regular use.
Inside Wide Tail - compact handling
The 140-200, 160-220 and 170-220 cm versions use an Inside Wide Tail, where the boom tail slides inside the boom body.
The inner tail width is 15.5 cm. This provides suitable clearance for modern sails while maintaining a compact and direct feel.
The IWT versions are particularly well suited to wave, bump & jump and freeride sailing.
Outside Wide Tail - for larger sails
The 190-240 and 220-270 cm versions use an Outside Wide Tail, where the boom tail slides over the outside of the boom body.
This layout provides a favourable stiffness-to-weight ratio and helps reduce rear-end swing weight on larger boom sizes.
The 190-240 cm version has a 17 cm inner tail width, making it suitable for larger freeride and freerace sails.
The 220-270 cm version uses a 29 cm inner tail width, providing significantly more clearance for deep-profile large freerace and race sails.
Pulley system on every size
Every Carbon V2 Ergo - HD version features a pulley system at the clew.
This allows smooth and precise outhaul adjustment. On larger setups, it can also be used with an adjustable outhaul system, depending on the chosen rope and hardware configuration.
Configure Me
The boom is part of the Unifiber Configure Me modular system. The boom head, body and tail are separate compatible components.
This allows worn parts to be replaced individually or the boom setup to be adapted without replacing the complete boom.
