The lightest and stiffest Unifiber boom range
The Unifiber Carbon V2 Modular - Elite is designed for demanding sailing where low weight, high stiffness and direct power transfer have a noticeable effect on sail control.
The boom body is made from 100% high-grade pre-preg carbon. The construction minimises flex under heavy loads and helps maintain a stable sail profile during acceleration, strong gusts and high-speed sailing through chop.
Compared with the Carbon HD range, the Elite models are lighter and focus primarily on maximum stiffness and precise rig feedback.
100% pre-preg carbon monocoque construction
All sizes use a Monocoque Boom Body with a continuous arm structure that improves load distribution and reduces unwanted flex.
Tube wall thickness is matched to the length and load requirements of each version:
140-200, 160-220 and 170-220 cm - 2 mm
190-240 and 205-255 cm - 2.3 mm
220-270 and 250-300 cm - 2.5 mm
The larger sizes are reinforced accordingly to handle the higher loads generated by big freerace and race sails.
Modular Boom Head - direct mast connection
This version is equipped with the Modular Boom Head, designed for riders who prioritise a stiff and direct connection between boom and mast.
Reduced movement at the connection helps transfer loads more directly and makes better use of the stiffness of the Elite carbon boom body.
The head provides axial movement, allowing it to align with the boom position on the mast. RDM and SDM adapters are included.
The Elite Modular version also comes with optional performance bolts for riders who want an even stiffer connection.
Grip matched to boom size
The grip profile changes with boom length. Smaller versions provide a slimmer hold, while larger models use a bigger cross-section to maintain the stiffness required under higher loads.
140-200 Slim - 25 mm
160-220 - 26 x 27 mm
170-220 - 27 x 29 mm
190-240, 205-255, 220-270 and 250-300 - 29 x 30 mm
The 140-200 Slim stands out with its 25 mm grip. The reduced diameter makes the boom easier to hold and can reduce forearm fatigue during demanding wave and bump & jump sessions.
The other versions use an ergonomic oval grip that combines comfortable handling with the stiffness required from longer booms.
High-density EVA around the front grip section improves abrasion resistance during regular use.
Inside Wide Tail - compact and direct handling
The 140-200 Slim, 160-220 and 170-220 cm versions use an Inside Wide Tail, where the boom tail slides inside the boom body.
The inner boom tail width is 15.5 cm. This provides enough clearance for modern sail profiles while maintaining compact and direct handling.
The 140-200 Slim is particularly well suited to wave and bump & jump sailing, while the wide tail also provides sufficient clearance for deeper profiles, including cambered and foil sails.
The 160-220 and 170-220 versions extend the range towards freeride and larger sails.
Outside Wide Tail - for larger rigs
The 190-240, 205-255, 220-270 and 250-300 cm versions use an Outside Wide Tail, where the boom tail slides over the outside of the boom body.
The large-diameter tail provides a favourable stiffness-to-weight ratio and helps minimise swing weight at the rear of the boom. With large freerace and race sails, this means less inertia through transitions and improved control at speed.
The 190-240 cm version has a 17 cm inner boom tail width.
The 205-255, 220-270 and 250-300 cm versions feature an extra-wide 29 cm tail, providing ample clearance for the very deep profiles of large race sails.
Pulley system on every size
Every Carbon V2 Modular - Elite boom features a pulley system at the clew.
This allows smooth and precise outhaul adjustment. On larger setups, the pulleys can also be used with an adjustable outhaul system for on-the-water sail trimming.
Configure Me
The Carbon V2 Modular - Elite is part of the Unifiber Configure Me system. The boom head, body and tail are separate compatible components.
This allows a worn or damaged component to be replaced without buying a complete new boom. The configuration can also be adapted later as your sail quiver or preferred boom range changes.
