Slimmer grip for better comfort
The Unifiber Alloy Ergo Boom Tapered - Essentials is designed for riders who prefer a narrower grip and want to reduce hand and forearm fatigue during longer sessions.
The tube tapers to 26 mm in the main grip and harness line area. This allows a more natural hand position and requires less effort to hold, which is particularly useful for lighter riders and windsurfers with smaller hands.
T8 aluminium monocoque construction
The boom body is made from T8 aluminium and uses a monocoque construction. The continuous arm structure helps minimise play and improves load distribution during sailing.
Compared with the non-tapered Essentials Alloy Boom, this model uses standard tube wall thickness and is therefore slightly less stiff and durable under high loads. In return, it provides a slimmer and more comfortable grip.
Ergo Boom Head
The Ergo version uses a classic single-hinge boom head with a lever mechanism. It is straightforward to operate and allows the boom to be attached to the mast quickly.
This setup is aimed at riders who prefer a familiar and easy-to-use boom head system.
RDM and SDM adapters are included, allowing the boom to be used with both common mast diameters.
For freeride and bump & jump
The modern arm outline and slightly wider tail make the boom well suited to freeride and bump & jump sails.
Extra clearance in the rear section helps prevent deeper modern sail profiles from pressing against the boom and allows the sail to maintain its intended shape under load.
Differences between sizes
The 140 and 160 sizes feature the Loop & Go system, which makes outhaul attachment quick and simple.
The 180 size uses a wider tail to accommodate larger sails with deeper profiles. It also includes a pulley block for smoother and more precise outhaul adjustment.
Durable finish
High-density EVA is used around the front grip section to improve abrasion resistance in areas exposed to frequent wear.
This boom is designed for regular use and is a practical choice for riders who value comfort and a slimmer grip more than maximum stiffness.
