Complete MXT system for windsurfing rigs
NeilPryde MXT Carbon SDM + Power MXT Base is a complete setup for SDM masts. The set includes a carbon MXT mast extension and a Power MXT mast base with a urethane tendon.
The Mono-Button Mast Base and Extension System, known as MXT, is used by many PWA sailors. It is designed for rigs that generate high loads, including race and slalom sails, but it is also a practical choice for windsurfers looking for a durable and easy-to-use mast connection system.
Carbon SDM mast extension
The carbon tube provides a low weight-to-stiffness ratio. The extension is available in 34 cm and 48 cm versions, allowing you to choose the right adjustment range for your mast and sail.
The tube has no adjustment grooves, which helps maintain greater structural strength. Extension length is adjusted using the Clamshell system.
Clamshell Adjustment System
The Clamshell mechanism allows quick and straightforward extension length adjustment. It is designed to work reliably in different temperatures.
Its heavy-duty stainless-steel construction provides secure engagement and is not affected by sand. Once set, the mechanism holds the selected position firmly.
Large MXT Mono-Button
The MXT Large Mono-Button provides a secure connection between the extension and mast base. Its large size makes it easier to operate with wet or cold hands.
MXT extensions are compatible only with NeilPryde Power MXT bases. Both components form an integrated system designed to handle high loads.
Integrated stainless-steel pulley system
The lower part of the extension uses an integrated cast stainless-steel structure. It transfers the load directly from the pulleys to the extension tube without relying on plastic load-bearing components.
Stainless-steel pulleys reduce friction and improve durability. The structure is designed to withstand more than 900 kg of downhaul load, which is more than twice the load normally used on the largest racing sails.
Optimised rope alignment
The lower pulley is angled to align the sail pulley, rope and extension system more accurately. This reduces friction and allows the sail to be downhauled fully in a block-to-block setup.
The rope cleat is integrated into the stainless-steel structure and aligned with the pulleys. This creates a clean rope path and makes the line easier to tension and lock.
Spectra rope
The extension comes with high-grade Spectra rope designed for durability, low friction and long-term performance.
The rope is suitable for repeated use under high downhaul loads.
Tack Slot
The Tack Slot helps keep the tack webbing in position. This limits unwanted movement around the lower part of the sail during use.
Power MXT mast base
The Power MXT base uses a US box mast base system and a transparent urethane tendon. Its low-profile design keeps the rig connection close to the deck.
The wide contact area helps distribute load across a larger section of the board. A padded grip plate provides shock absorption and helps protect the deck against scratches.
