For cold sessions and harsh conditions
The Rise 6/5 Hooded GBS FZ is built for riding in low temperatures, strong wind and conditions where a standard wetsuit no longer provides enough protection. The thicker neoprene and integrated hood help reduce heat loss during long sessions and protect the areas of the body that cool down the fastest.
It is a wetsuit for riders who stay on the water well beyond summer and need a balance of warmth, comfort and freedom of movement.
Warmth without excessive stiffness
This version uses Tech Zag insulation, which provides thermal comfort from the chest down to the ankles. The material is soft, quick-drying and helps retain warmth where it matters most during cold sessions.
Additional protection comes from the Apex Flex outer layer, which not only improves flexibility but also helps shield the body from wind chill. This makes the suit especially useful in watersports where wet neoprene is constantly exposed to wind.
Flexible neoprene and higher overall comfort
The Rise features MSL Luxe Limestone Neoprene, the most flexible neoprene NeilPryde has ever used in its wetsuits. This improves fit and allows the suit to move more naturally with the body, so even at 6/5 mm it feels less restrictive than you might expect from a winter wetsuit.
In areas without thermal insulation, the suit uses Neo Silk. This ultra-flexible inner lining helps your hands and feet slide into the wetsuit more easily and adds a smooth, cushioned feel against the skin. You will especially notice the difference when changing in the cold or getting in and out of the suit multiple times in one day.
Hooded construction for the colder part of the season
The integrated hood adds extra protection for the head, ears and face - the areas that lose heat especially quickly in cold water and strong wind. This kind of construction makes sense for winter sessions, late autumn and early spring conditions.
The suit also features a front zip with the Quick Zip System, which makes entry and exit easier. That is especially useful in thicker wetsuits, where ease of use matters even more than in summer models.
Durability and practical freedom of movement
The Rise is equipped with Amortex Pro Kneepads, highly abrasion-resistant knee panels that are especially useful when climbing onto the board. This is particularly relevant for wingfoiling, but also for any situation where you often kneel while starting, repositioning or preparing to get going.
Another useful detail is the Deboss Knee Flex Panel, which increases flexibility behind the knees and reduces restriction when bending the legs. The construction is completed with GBS seams - glued and blind stitched - for a watertight seam that helps limit water entry.
