Character and purpose
Apex was created for sailors who want instant power, rock-solid stability and confidence in extreme or gusty wind, while keeping the sail agile and easy to throw into the air. It is the choice for high-wind jumping and aggressive riding, helping you plane earlier, gain speed faster and boost higher with full control during rotation and landings.
Construction and on-water behaviour
Combining the DNA of the Combat with more bottom-end drive, the Apex accelerates faster and stays more composed when overpowered. A higher aspect ratio and a slightly taller luff improve efficiency both upwind and downwave. The sail fills quickly and smoothly, making early planing effortless and allowing riders to generate immediate lift for big jumps.
Stability and handling
A newly developed luff curve and 3D-designed shaping provide a stiff but not harsh profile. The Apex pumps easily, reaches high top speeds and remains stable even in violent gusts. The sail feels balanced and predictable whether fully powered in side-shore or fighting through difficult onshore surf.
4 / 5 batten layout
Smaller sizes use 4 battens for maneuverability and fast depower. Larger sizes use 5 battens for increased profile stability in stronger winds. This gives each size the ideal weight-to-control ratio across the entire range.
Increased size spacing
Because the Apex has a wider wind range per size, spacing between sizes has been increased. This allows riders to cover more conditions with fewer sails, making travel and quiver organization easier.
Constructions and differences between models...
Apex HD
- Heavy Duty, ultralight for its durability class
- Power HD tack and clew with load-aligned Ultra PE
- Black Ultra-PE Triax upper panels
- Ultra-PE in leech and head
- Ripstop Taffeta X-Ply luff
- Ultra-PE X-Ply window for extra strength
- The most durable option with excellent control in harsh conditions
Apex Pro Fuse
- Lightest and most responsive construction
- Q-Bonded Aramid Pro Fuse tack and clew
- Ultra Scrim laminated upper and mid panels
- Ultra clear window
- Highest responsiveness and lightest feel in jumps and maneuvers
Both constructions share the same Apex geometry and performance characteristics. Only the material package differs.
Features

- Drive and acceleration - More low-end power and faster fill-in for quick takeoff and explosive jumps
- Wide wind range - Higher aspect ratio and refined outline extend both the low and high end
- Stability - A balanced, efficient profile remains stable and comfortable even when fully overpowered
- 4 / 5 batten layout - 4 battens in smaller sizes for agility, 5 battens in larger sizes for control
- Increased size spacing - Each size covers a broader wind range, reducing the number of sails needed
- Power HD, Ultra Scrim or Pro Fuse (depending on version) - Material packages optimized for durability, weight or responsiveness
- Clear or X-Ply window - Pro Fuse offers maximum visibility, HD provides increased impact resistance
