Impact protection for foiling
NeilPryde Combat Eco Foil Impact FZ is designed for wing foiling, wind foiling and other foil disciplines where falls may involve contact with the board or foil components.
Protective padding is placed across the chest, stomach, sides and back, covering the main areas exposed during crashes, failed manoeuvres and falls at speed.
Protection around the torso
The impact panels help absorb and spread the force of a collision, reducing direct pressure on the body. Side padding is particularly useful in foiling, where falls are not always flat or predictable.
Protection is not limited to the chest and back. Additional padding around the stomach and sides provides broader coverage during contact with the board, mast or foil wings.
Securely sewn padding
Each protective section is firmly sewn into the vest. This prevents the panels from shifting during movement or on impact.
The padding stays in the intended position throughout the session, helping provide consistent protection even after repeated falls and remounts.
Added buoyancy
The protective foam also provides additional buoyancy. This makes it easier to stay on the surface while swimming back to the board or wing and reduces the effort required to climb back onto the board.
Combat Eco Foil Impact FZ is an impact vest with added flotation. It should not be treated as a replacement for a certified life jacket or buoyancy aid where such equipment is required.
Front zip entry
The front zip allows the vest to open widely, making it easier to put on over a wetsuit and remove after a session.
This is especially useful with a close-fitting impact vest, as wet neoprene can make over-the-head models more difficult to take off.
Comfort and freedom of movement
The vest is designed to provide protection without excessively restricting upper-body movement. This is important when pumping the foil, handling a wing and performing manoeuvres that require torso rotation.
Its close fit also helps reduce unwanted movement of the vest during riding and falls.
