Wave and high-wind bump & jump
Purelip is developed for riders who sail powered and need stable handling through jumps, hard landings, chop and demanding wave conditions.
Its character is focused on control and predictability under high load, without nervous or abrupt power delivery.
Stability under sustained load
A higher aspect ratio and shorter boom improve balance and reduce swing weight.
Revised luff curves and batten angles lower the center of effort, helping the sail remain calmer and more stable when heavily powered.
From 3.7 m² upward, Purelip uses a 5-batten layout to increase profile stability and upper-end control.
Smooth and manageable drive
Purelip is designed to maintain forward drive without becoming aggressive as wind strength increases.
This helps the rider stay in control through gusts, landings and rough water, reducing the need for constant stance corrections.
Standing Battens
Purelip uses Standing Battens, a Loftsails-specific solution designed to provide stiffness similar to tube battens while offering greater resilience in wave and bump & jump conditions.
They help stabilize the profile and extend the upper wind range.
Broad tuning range
Dual clew eyelets allow the rider to adjust leech response and adapt the sail to changing conditions.
The upper eyelet creates a firmer leech, while the lower eyelet adds elasticity and twist for improved control in stronger wind.
Micro battens further support leech stability and help maintain a precise profile.
Dual Kevlar Clew Radials
Two Kevlar Clew Radials extend from the clew into the sail body.
They spread loads across a wider area and help maintain profile integrity during powered sailing, jumping and repeated landings.
Full X-Ply Construction
The HD Blue and LTD Green versions use a full X-Ply construction without conventional monofilm.
The foot panel is made from durable 5 mil triaxial X-Ply, while the upper body uses 2 mil quad-axial X-Ply.
The luff panels use 5 mil biaxial and triaxial X-Ply, while double-overlapped seams between the leech panel and upper body panel further reinforce the structure.
Reinforced construction for intensive use
Purelip uses IPC reinforcements, a 5 mil foot panel and a robust 30 mm mast sleeve seam.
These solutions strengthen areas exposed to repeated loading, abrasion and long-term wear.
Functional Minimalism
The panel layout follows a functional minimalism approach by reducing unnecessary marker cloth, scrim and graphic applications.
This lowers overall weight and swing weight while keeping reinforcement where it is structurally needed.
Purelip is available in HD Blue and LTD Green colorways.

Loftsails Purelip 2026/27 – Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Loftsails Purelip designed for?
What's new in the Purelip 2026?
A simplified panel layout follows a functional minimalism approach, reducing unnecessary graphics to save weight and enhance long-term durability.
The range also introduces a new LTD Green colorway, featuring the same construction as the HD Blue version.
What is the difference between Purelip and Wavescape?
The Wavescape focuses on down-the-line wave riding, prioritizing lightness, maneuverability, and precise handling on clean wave faces.
Choose the Purelip for demanding, high-wind wave sessions and the Wavescape for fluid, expressive wave riding.
Which mast is recommended for the Purelip 3.3 HD Blue 2026?
What type of board can I use with the Purelip?
How does the Purelip perform in different wind conditions?
In strong winds, proper high-wind trimming delivers excellent stability and control, even when heavily powered. With a softer trim, the sail generates powerful low-end drive, providing the extra pull needed in lighter winds.
