Who is the Loftsails Raceboardblade OD for?
Loftsails Raceboardblade OD is a Raceboard windsurf sail designed for light to medium wind conditions. It is aimed at both developing racers and experienced competitors looking for a lightweight, effective and more cost-conscious racing design.
Proven Raceboardblade ULW profile
The Raceboardblade OD is based on the Raceboardblade ULW range and retains its key design principles. Optimised vertical curves, horizontal shaping and controlled leech release provide efficient performance on both upwind and downwind legs.
The sail is available in 6.5, 7.5 and 8.5 m² sizes, allowing riders to choose the right area for their weight and expected wind range.
Lightweight construction and efficient pumping
The main window and upper body include monofilm panels. The profile is stabilised by three cams and five fibreglass rod-and-tube battens.
This setup creates a light frame that works particularly well in lighter winds. Low weight and responsive flex make the sail easier to pump and help the rider use short gusts more effectively.
Firm leading edge and smooth rotation
The mast pocket uses the Blade Mast Pocket construction, consisting of two mast pocket sides and an internal mast panel. All three layers are tensioned by the downhaul.
This design balances tension between the mast panel and mast pocket, creating a firm leading edge and supporting smooth cam rotation through transitions.
The upper mast sleeve is made from lightweight Dacron, while the lower section uses durable SU250 material.
Precise trim across the wind range
The Raceboardblade OD responds clearly to downhaul and outhaul adjustments. This allows the rider to control profile depth and leech release according to the wind strength and point of sail.
The Trim Diamond provides a reference for precise leech tuning, while the exposed tack allows the use of an adjustable downhaul system. The tack strap with eyelet works independently from downhaul tension, giving separate control over the lower section of the sail.
What does OD mean?
OD stands for “One Design”, although the Raceboardblade OD is not currently approved as part of an official One Design class. The name reflects a possible future direction for the range if the sail meets the relevant requirements and gains sufficient support among racers.
Features

- Trim Diamond - A reference marker for precision leach-release tunning
- Blade Mast Pocket - Downhaul tension is equalized between the mast panel and the mast pocket resulting in a firm, easy-rotating leading edge
