A complete windsurfing rig
The GA Sails Hybrid Rig 2026 includes all the essential components needed to prepare a full windsurfing rig: the Hybrid 2026 sail, a GA 30% Carbon mast, an aluminium boom, an aluminium extension, an uphaul, and a storage bag for the complete set. Each component is matched to the selected sail size, so there is no need to choose the mast, boom, and extension separately.
This package is a practical choice for windsurfers who want one complete rig for recreational sailing, further progression, and regular use. The included bag makes it easier to store and transport all components together.
A character matched to each size
The Hybrid 2026 does not have the same behavior across its entire size range. Each version has been designed around the conditions in which it is most likely to be used.
The 4.7 has four battens and the most maneuverable character in the available rig range. It is intended for wave sailing, stronger wind, and conditions where control and easy handling through maneuvers matter most.
Sizes from 5.2 to 6.4 use five battens. They combine maneuverability with a more stable profile and work well for bump & jump sailing and versatile freeride use in choppy conditions.
The 6.7 and 7.2 sizes use six battens and are more freeride-oriented. They provide steadier power, good performance across the reach, and greater comfort during faster sailing on flat or lightly choppy water.
Smooth and predictable power delivery
A Dacron panel positioned alongside the mast sleeve helps the sail build power smoothly. This makes the rig less abrupt in gusts and easier to control in uneven wind.
The no-cam design supports smooth profile rotation during maneuvers and keeps rigging straightforward. The Hybrid offers clear but accessible feedback, allowing riders to develop their technique without moving to a more demanding race sail.
Progressive batten configuration
The reduced batten count in the smaller versions supports low weight and maneuverability. The larger sails use a more developed structure to maintain a stable profile during faster sailing and in the upper part of their wind range.
Hybrid 2026 construction
The one-piece mast sleeve reduces weight and improves the connection between the sail and mast. Compact Window Design provides good visibility while limiting unnecessary seams and transitions between different materials.
Sizes up to 6.4 use a durable X-Ply window. This is a practical solution for the smaller, more maneuver-oriented versions that are more likely to be used in waves and choppy conditions.
GA 30% Carbon mast
The rig includes a GA mast with 30% carbon content. It provides the response needed to work correctly with the sail profile while remaining focused on durability and recreational use.
Sizes up to 6.7 are supplied with an RDM mast. The 7.2 version uses an SDM mast suited to the larger sail area and its freeride-oriented character.
Aluminium boom
The rig includes an adjustable GA Sails aluminium boom. It offers durable construction, straightforward handling, and suitable stiffness for recreational and intermediate windsurfing.
The smaller sizes use a 140-190 cm boom, while the larger versions come with a 170-220 cm boom. The adjustment range also allows the boom to be used with other sails that fit within the specified dimensions.
Extension, uphaul, and storage bag
A 35 cm aluminium extension is included and matched in diameter to the mast supplied with the selected rig size. It allows the correct luff length to be set and the sail to be properly tensioned.
The package also includes an uphaul and a bag designed to hold the rig components. This makes it easier to keep the full set together during transport and storage.
Color options
The Hybrid 2026 sail is available in red and white color versions. Availability may depend on sail size and current stock, so the selected color should be confirmed with the shop before purchase.
Action photos may show the sail used with a different mast, boom, or extension than the components included in the complete rig.
