Built for high-performance foil slalom

The Vapor Air 2026 is a specialist racing sail developed for foil windsurfing. Its entire construction is focused on high speed, profile stability, and efficient performance across all wind angles.

The sail keeps the strengths of the previous generation, including early lift onto the foil, smooth rotation, and relatively easy handling, while adding better acceleration, more control, and a more precise response. It is designed for riders who want to race at a high level and use the full potential of a foil setup.

New outline and more compact handling

For 2026, the Vapor Air has received a completely redesigned outline. A shorter boom and lower clew make the sail feel more compact and easier to control during jibes and maneuvers around the marks.

The updated geometry improves its response to rider input and helps the sail settle more quickly after a change of direction. This is especially important in foil slalom, where a smooth entry into the maneuver and fast acceleration out of it can have a direct impact on race results.

Stable profile and consistent forward drive

Updated luff curves, profiles, and batten configuration have been developed to provide stable power delivery and balanced handling across different wind angles.

The profile works under high tension, helping the center of effort remain stable even in changing conditions. The sail generates efficient forward drive, supporting acceleration, helping maintain speed, and reducing the need for constant rig corrections.

Project 85 Aramid Technology

The mast sleeve and batten pockets are made from Project 85 Aramid Technology UPE laminate. This material combines low weight, minimal stretch, and high durability.

Using it in key structural areas helps the sail maintain a stable profile under heavy load and improves direct response. Reduced stretch also gives the sail more consistent behavior during acceleration, pumping, and high-wind racing.

Continuous Radial Panel Layout

The sail panels run radially from the central area of the sail. This continuous layout reduces the number of cross seams typically found in traditional horizontal and vertical panel constructions.

As a result, loads are distributed more evenly and the panels work together as one integrated structure. This improves profile stability, creates more direct feedback, and allows the sail to react more accurately to changing loads.

Lower weight and improved balance

The foot panel is made from Color Monofilm, helping reduce overall sail weight without compromising durability in this part of the construction. The lighter lower section improves balance and allows the Vapor Air to react faster to rider input.

Reduced weight also helps during jibes and when accelerating again after a maneuver. The sail is easier to reposition and places less strain on the rider during longer races.

Cross Batten Concept

The Cross Batten Concept stabilizes the profile and helps keep the center of effort in a fixed position. This limits unwanted movement of the power point as speed or wind strength increases.

In practice, the sail feels more predictable and allows the rider to push the setup harder without sudden changes in balance. This is particularly important at high speed and on foil, where even small profile changes can affect the stability of the whole setup.

Features

  • Continuous Radial Panel Layout - The radial continuous panel construction improves load distribution, profile stability, and direct feedback
  • Project 85 Aramid Technology - UPE laminate in the mast sleeve and batten pockets reduces weight and stretch while improving long-term profile stability
  • New Outline - A shorter boom and lower clew improve response, handling, and control through jibes
  • Updated Luff Curves and Profiles - Provide more stable power delivery, better balance, and improved control across different wind angles
  • High Tension Profile - High profile tension maintains consistent drive and stable handling in changing conditions
  • Cross Batten Concept - Helps keep the profile stable and the center of effort in a fixed position
  • Color Monofilm Foot Panel - The lightweight foot panel reduces overall weight and improves sail response
  • Smooth Rotation - Supports faster transitions through jibes and quicker acceleration after the maneuver
  • Early Foil Lift - Efficient power delivery helps the board rise onto the foil quickly
  • Top-End Stability - The rigid construction and refined profile help maintain control at high speed
