Built for freefly and downwind riding
The ROCKET FREE DOWNWIND CARBON was developed for emerging disciplines where the wing, parawing, or paddle is mainly used for take-off, then moved aside so the rider can focus on the energy of the water. In this kind of riding, glide, flow, and the ability to connect bumps and swells become the priority. This board was created exactly for that style - helping riders get onto the foil more easily, offering support in challenging conditions, and providing a stable platform once flying.
More length for better glide and acceleration
In freefly and downwind disciplines, take-offs are usually more demanding than in classic wingfoiling, so the board needs to carry speed well and build momentum efficiently. The elongated shape of the ROCKET FREE DOWNWIND CARBON improves glide and helps the board accelerate before lift-off. This makes it easier to take advantage of lighter wind, a small bump, or wave energy.
Volume that gives real support
The generous and well-balanced volume improves stability while waiting for take-off, accelerating, and during the first stage of flight. This becomes especially important in rougher conditions, where the water is broken and take-offs require more precision. The board gives the rider more margin for error and makes the whole launch phase feel more controlled.
Midlength foundations pushed further toward downwind use
The ROCKET FREE DOWNWIND CARBON builds on the foundations of the midlength concept - natural front-to-back balance, stability, and good glide - but takes them further. The longer shape and more stretched outline improve efficiency, lift, and acceleration even more. This is clearly a board designed to make better use of water energy and make getting onto the foil smoother and easier.
Carbon construction - low weight, stiffness, and quicker response
The CARBON version uses HD Foam Carbon Composite construction, a sandwich made of high-density foam, fiberglass, and carbon fiber. This makes the board very light, stiff, and resistant to heel pressure and everyday dings. On the water, it delivers a more direct foil feel, better pumping response, and clearly improved reactivity.
Tail step and kicktail
The step in the rear section of the bottom and the kicktail help the board build speed more quickly and pass through touchdowns more smoothly. In practice, this means less loss of momentum when the board reconnects with the water and an easier time maintaining flow. It is a setup that fits the board’s early take-off and long-glide character very well.
Shallow cockpit and solid control underfoot
The slightly recessed standing area, or shallow cockpit, improves control over the board and foil without adding too much thickness under the feet. This gives the rider a more natural feel and helps maintain cleaner handling. It is an important feature on a board that is meant to be stable and buoyant without losing connection to the foil.
Well-balanced width-to-thickness ratio
F-ONE has fine-tuned the relationship between width and thickness so the board offers stability at low speed without giving away too much acceleration. This balance makes the board accessible to a wide range of riders and helps it perform well even when conditions are lighter or more demanding.
More stable and more forgiving than the FREE SURF
Compared to the FREE SURF, the FREE DOWNWIND CARBON is more stable and more focused on easy take-offs. It has more thickness, a wider nose, a larger bottom surface, and squarer rails. The foot pressure is also slightly shifted forward, in line with the feel of classic F-ONE boards. This combination will appeal especially to riders who value stability and easy lift-off above all else.
Carbon Twin-Tracks and a more precise foil connection
The Carbon Twin-Tracks with 90 mm standard spacing are compatible with masts using a four-bolt top plate. Their construction improves the connection between the board and foil, creating more direct feedback, better control, and greater precision during maneuvers. The tracks are also slightly longer than standard, giving more room to fine-tune foil placement and overall board balance.
Features

- Elongated Downwind Shape - The added length improves glide, acceleration, and helps riders get onto the foil earlier
- Optimized Volume - The volume supports stability, acceleration, and easier take-offs in more demanding conditions
- Natural Front-to-Back Balance - The board offers predictable support and makes control easier during acceleration and flight
- Tail Step and Kicktail - Help the board build speed faster, improve water release, and soften touchdowns
- Shallow Cockpit - The slightly recessed standing area improves control without making the board excessively thick
- Wider Nose and Larger Bottom Surface - Increase stability and make take-offs easier, especially in rougher or lighter conditions
- Squarer Rails - Support the board’s stable character and help it stay predictable on the water
- HD Foam Carbon Composite - A sandwich construction using high-density foam, fiberglass, and carbon fiber for low weight, stiffness, and strong resistance to heel pressure and impacts
- Carbon Twin-Tracks - Carbon tracks with 90 mm spacing improve the connection to the foil, increase precision, and offer more room to fine-tune foil position on the board
