Who this foil is for
The SUSHI was developed for riders who want foiling to feel first and foremost like surfing a wave, not just going fast. It is aimed at riders who want better control in the pocket, quicker cutbacks and snaps, and the ability to stay close to the most critical part of the wave. It works well for surf foiling, K-Wing, pocket wing, and tow foiling, and really shows its character when the waves are steeper, the period is shorter, and quick response and precise control matter most.
Maximum roll and very tight turns
The strongest point of the SUSHI is its roll and the ease with which it moves rail to rail. F-ONE clearly tuned this foil to feel immediate and natural, almost like a traditional surfboard under your feet. Turns feel tight, quick, and intuitive, and the foil delivers very direct feedback. This is exactly what allows the SUSHI to stay closer to the curl and link maneuvers more easily without running too far away from the wave.
Less speed, more control on the wave
Compared to the SK8, the SUSHI is less about outright speed and more about control and agility. That makes a real difference in steeper waves and shorter-period surf, where a foil that is too fast can pull the rider too far out of the pocket. Here, it is easier to control your pace, stay in the most powerful part of the wave, and keep turning even when the wave becomes steeper or more powerful. As a result, there is less need for long bottom turns just to regulate speed.
TITAN 2 connection and a more direct feel
As with the other new F-ONE foils, the TITAN 2 connection plays an important role here as well. It improves stiffness, efficiency, and confidence at the junction between the mast and foil. In practice, it gives a more direct feel underfoot, a faster response to rider input, and a more consistent overall behavior. On a foil so strongly focused on turning precision and surf-like feel, that makes a real difference.
Strong low end and efficient pumping
Even though the SUSHI is focused on control, it still delivers plenty of lift and efficiency at low speed. Its high-camber profile gives it very strong low-end power and smooth, progressive lift. The foil offers consistent support throughout the turn, without sudden changes in behavior. That also makes it very efficient for pumping back to the peak and returning to the next section without wasting too much energy.
Surprisingly versatile beyond pure surf foiling
Although the SUSHI was designed with pure wave riding in mind, it is not limited to a single discipline. With a wing, K-Wing, or pocket wing in hand, it still delivers good efficiency and surprisingly capable upwind performance. That matters because it keeps its surf-oriented character while remaining useful for more freefly-oriented sessions as well. If you want a very maneuverable foil without locking yourself into one use only, the SUSHI offers plenty of versatility.
A more surf-like back-footed feel
F-ONE also points out the slightly more back-footed feel of the SUSHI. This is meant to bring the sensation even closer to traditional surfing. In practice, the foil gives a more natural rear-foot feel and makes it easier to control the board through tighter turns and quick direction changes. For many riders, this detail will make a real difference in how connected and surf-like the setup feels.
SUSHI vs SK8 - when to choose each one
The SUSHI is not meant to replace the SK8, but to complement it. The SK8 will be the better choice when you want more speed and a more all-round character. The SUSHI comes into its own when roll, control, and tight turns in steeper waves are the priority. If your riding is more about surf-style lines, staying close to the pocket, and playing with the wave itself, then the SUSHI is the more natural option.
Features

- Maximum Roll and Maneuverability - A very tight turning radius and quick rail-to-rail transitions create a distinctly more surf-inspired feel
- Optimized for Lower-Speed Wave Riding - The foil offers excellent control in the pocket and allows quick cutbacks and snaps without running away from the wave
- Excellent Low End - The high-camber profile delivers smooth lift, strong support, and consistent power at lower speed
- Efficient Pumping and Fast Upwind Ability - The foil pumps efficiently back to the peak and helps the rider return upwind with less effort
- Versatility Across Disciplines - It works well for surf foiling, K-Wing, pocket wing, and tow foiling
- Best in Steeper Waves and Shorter Period Surf - This is where it shows its strongest control, roll, and tight-turning potential
- Slightly More Back-Footed Feel - The foil feels closer to traditional surfing and improves control through maneuvers
- Aspect Ratio 7.7 - The outline balances glide and maneuverability, while clearly favoring control over maximum speed
- TITAN 2 Connection - A stiffer and more efficient mast connection improves feel, precision, and overall consistency
