INVICTUS 2021

FMX Racing Invictus are boards specially designed to cross the speed barriers during racing. Made in ultra-light PRO Edition Carbon technology, they are one of the lightest and the strongest boards in the world.

INVICTUS 74 - COMPETITION SPEED - Blazing fast, with an impressive wind range, this competition speed board has it all.
Based upon the experience gained from multiple world records and world titles, the Invictus 74 is ideal for gaining direct access to the adrenaline associated with going fast on flat water. Early planing off the beach even with a 7.0 sail, however one can also use a 5.2 ultra jacked as the nose stays very steady and consistent on the run. The rail shapes are designed to be ultra comfortable and increase the control and speedsailing time.
The new cutout design creates rail pressure to ride the fin through the lulls in lower wind speeds and at the same time trims smooth and stable with excellent acceleration when in the hardcore stuff. The Invictus 74 is the latest in design knowledge gained from the cut throat slalom board development. In fact, many technical design features are similar.
Additional modes of use of this board include long distance in very strong winds and the good control means sailing in steep chop at high speed on ultra downwind speed courses is also achievable.

INVICTUS 88 - COMPETITION HIGH-WIND SLALOM - The 61cm wide 88L is the little brother of the highly successful Invictus 98. Control oriented outline and easy to ride rails, a reverse vee bottom shape planform – proven fast and easy.
What else to say here other than the master of this board was a flier, and went straight into production. Explosive acceleration in the gusts with a big top speed potential. Additional concave for extra comfort in the hard stuff.
Super easy on all points of sail with superb glide through lulls and effortless control ultra jacked. Tighter radius gybes and better gybe exits to stay ahead of the pack. Loads of control, solid and stable in a wide variety of conditions, and with the speed to blaze a trail.
This board perfectly suits smaller riders and women, or those sailors looking for high top speeds with big sails in flat water.

INVICTUS 98 - COMPETITION HIGH-WIND SLALOM - This is the board created for high-wind slalom that behaved with more stability in the often difficult gybing manoeuvres associated with strong winds, coupled with increased overall stability and speed to enhance the racing experience on the water.
What else to say here other than the master of this board was an absolute flier. Clearly beating everything in its path. Explosive acceleration in the gusts with an unlimited top speed potential. Super easy on all points of sail with superb glide through lulls and effortless control ultra jacked. Tighter radius gybes and better gybe exits to stay ahead of the pack.
If you want to be the fastest cat in your area then this is the board for you. Superior sail range possibilities from 5.2-7.0, even the 7.8 fits when used in flatter water, all made possible by the RTS cutout system.

INVICTUS 104 - COMPETITION MEDIUM-WIND SLALOM - The all-new 104 is a 67cm wide ‘small medium’ model with a wide wind range and excellent top speed with control on all points of sail. Perfectly suited for powered up 5.8-7.8. Stable and solid trim in many different conditions.
Increased rail and fin pressure to maintain excellent tracking characteristics, with an ultra stable and direct feel in a wide variety of sailing conditions. Improved exit from the gybes whilst still maintaining a tight gybe radius with grip. The 104 is the ultimate crossover size between high wind and medium wind slalom.

INVICTUS 108 - COMPETITION MEDIUM-WIND SLALOM - The 108 is a 70cm wide ‘small medium’ model with a wide wind range and excellent top speed with control on all points of sail. Perfectly suited for powered up 7.0, 7.8 and this board can also handle an 8.6. Stable and solid trim in many different conditions.
Increased rail and fin pressure to maintain excellent tracking characteristics, with an ultra stable and direct feel in a wide variety of sailing conditions. Improved exit from the gybes whilst still maintaining a tight gybe radius with grip.
The 108 is a serious contender in terms of overall performance. Better than previous same size generations deep off the wind and also tight to the wind, the Invictus 108 is the board of choice for those who want to excel in either chop or flat water medium wind conditions.

INVICTUS 118 - COMPETITION HIGH-WIND SLALOM - Upgraded 72cm wide medium world cup race board. This popular size requires a wide performance window in very different conditions that normally accompany medium wind racing or free sailing.
Improved exit from the gybe with the new plate design, whilst still maintaining a tight gybe radius with grip. The 118 has an ultra stable and direct feel in a wide variety of sailing conditions. Very fast with multiple sail and fin sizes, fantastic high performance range.
An excellent choice for those who want an ‘all-round’ medium board with an excellent performance window. Top speed, control and stability in the gybes, the 118 always does the job.

INVICTUS 128 - COMPETITION LIGHT-WIND SLALOM - The Invictus 128 follows exactly the same technical design style as the highly successful PWA event and race winner 138, packaged into an 81cm wide outline.
The 128 handles a very large range of conditions with top performance capabilities. Exceptionally forgiving with explosive speed and stable handling, this Invictus model is the best of both worlds between the medium and big slalom board sizes.
Power through the 8-knot lulls with extra glisse and ease, whilst simultaneously being able to take 20/25-knots of wind with stability and control, this design has it all.
Whether sailing on mirror flat water or in the mountainous chop of the North Sea, the Invictus 128 will stay predictable and stable under your feet.

INVICTUS 138 - COMPETITION LIGHT-WIND SLALOM - Light wind slalom is ultra competitive and small differences in equipment can make big gains on the race course. The Invictus 138 is the next level design style and a radical departure from the previous technical mind set for this size of board.
It is not easy to improve a PWA World Cup race winning design (Maciek @ Denmark, Croatia), but this new light wind machine is simply fantastic. Fast, easy and with increased rail pressure, resulting in the ability to use smaller fins, thus reducing the drag even further.
Explosive acceleration, top-end speed and impressive stability combined with a free release that still has enough power and drive, the key combination for optimum performance in the 11-16 knot current 138 racing wind range.

Features

  • Durepox Xtreme ® – America’s Cup grade ultra high-tech bottom paint finish currently used by Team NZ!
    • Proven faster water and air release for that extra ‘slip’ = higher speeds.
    • Harder and more durable than normal paint finishes.
    • A windsurfing industry first. Taking it to the next level!
    • Read about it here.
  • RTS – Range Trim System – 100% carbon/high-density PVC core removable cutout plates – Multiple designs – Significantly increases the range by 20% of all slalom models
  • Design A – (fitted with the board) – Best overall performance plate design striking a perfect balance between top speed, control, stability in high winds and acceleration.
  • Design B – Feel the instant extra burst of acceleration and an increase in top speeds in high octane flatter water situations.
  • Design C – Maximum control and stability for the most difficult sailing conditions. Max. planing, close reach pointing and grip in all conditions.
  • Compact shape for increased control overpowered, earlier planing, better glide and increased acceleration away from the gybes.
  • Refined all-new scoop-rocker line for easier handling, explosive acceleration and top-speed in both flat water and choppy conditions.
  • Deep deck concave design – More stability in the now flatter standing area with the front foot after the gybe improves the planing and acceleration away from the mark. New design quick transition deep recess around the mast box increases downforce and nose trim stability at high speed and lift/fin drive at low speed for all sizes.
  • Reverse Vee bottom shape – Generous vee and double concave configuration in the nose to clear the chop and create a smooth ride, transitioning to less vee and dc in the tail for reduced drag in the wetted surface area for ultra high speed bursts and acceleration.
  • ‘V3 Vector Cuts’ – Straight line cutout design that facilitates clean and effortless water release. Removable plates – The next level in terms of performance and range.
  • The deck layup is with 45 degree biax carbon for a slightly more forgiving feel than the 108-138, although the stiffness is still excellent to maintain the direct feeling and glide on the fin for those sessions in less than ideal conditions.
  • Tuttle Strong Box – Double the carbon content, double the wall strength and stiffness, and built with a 100% high-density PVC sandwich body. The result – fins stay tight and the box holds the direct feeling performance even after prolonged use.

ABOUT FMX Racing

FMX Racing is born from a deep desire to design, shape, test and ultimately deliver world class products to the windsurfing market that racers and customers alike will remember forever.

Drawing from 11 World Titles & 32-years of competition, design and testing experience, Finian Maynard began his windsurfing board building career on Maui in 1992. Having learned his initial skill set as a young man directly from legendary #1 master shaper Jimmy Lewis, and working directly with racing industry legends Richard Greene and Phil McGain, yet more invaluable knowledge, experience and understanding was learned in the historical mecca of windsurfing – Haiku. This ultimately formed a solid base from which a highly successful career was formed.
