Who this board is for

The Blitz SLS was created for windsurfers who already feel comfortable in the footstraps and are looking for a board that is faster, sportier, and more refined than a classic freeride model. It is designed for riders who want to improve top speed, get planing earlier, and progress into more dynamic jibes, while still expecting predictable handling and comfort in everyday sailing. Duotone positions the Blitz SLS as a freeride >< freerace board - a shape that moves noticeably closer to race-oriented performance, while remaining much easier to handle than a full slalom board.

Maximum performance with minimum effort

This is the key idea behind the Blitz SLS. The board is meant to deliver very strong performance, but without demanding the same level of energy and precision as a pure slalom shape. On the water, that means quick planing, confident acceleration, and very good control across a wide range of conditions. The Blitz SLS is not a board that only works in one setup or one wind range - it is designed to stay fast, stable, and predictable even when conditions change.

FULL CUSTOM SLS - low weight and strong durability

The biggest difference compared to the standard Blitz is the FULL CUSTOM SLS construction. This technology is built like a true custom board, with a CNC-milled EPS core and a highly refined production process. Duotone uses what it calls Single Process Technology, meaning key construction steps are handled separately instead of being combined to save time. The result is a very strong weight-to-durability ratio. Compared to the standard construction, the weight has been reduced even further, while the board still keeps high durability and a very direct feel on the water.

More volume without giving up control

The Blitz SLS follows the “volume yet control” concept also used in other Duotone boards. In practice, this means you can choose a board around 10 liters bigger than comparable models from other brands without clearly sacrificing control in stronger wind. The extra volume improves stability before planing, supports take-off, and gets the board onto the plane earlier, while still keeping its freerace character at speed. This is one of the key reasons why the Blitz SLS works so well across such a broad range of conditions.

Jibes, control, and the wide tail

The wide tail gives the board plenty of support through the jibe and clearly helps progression. A more advanced rider can commit hard into the turn and use the extra speed, while an intermediate rider gets a smoother and more predictable feel. This makes the Blitz SLS effective from first power jibes all the way to fast laydown jibes. It is an important advantage, because the board does not stop being relevant once the rider improves - it leaves real room for further progression.

Race-inspired features from slalom boards

The Blitz SLS clearly takes inspiration from Duotone’s World Cup slalom boards. The slightly more parallel outline helps reduce bouncing in choppy water and makes it easier to hold speed without overloading your legs. The boxier rails in the center improve acceleration and planing power, while the thinner rails toward the tail help during jibes. The two-step cutouts reduce wetted surface, improve acceleration and top speed, and help the board stay smooth in rough water. The recessed mast track area lowers the rig connection point, improving both control and aerodynamics by closing the gap between board and sail.
