Join usAll SILVER booms are made from 7075 high-tech aluminium in high-quality BONDED TECHNOLOGY. This material used predominantly in cycling gives the tubes significantly more stiffness. There is also the new combination of a round tube in the front area (holding forces act obliquely downwards, so it is stiffer around here) and the OVAL TAIL SECTION (horizontal sail pull, thus the oval tube is stiffer here). This makes the entire SILVER around 30% stiffer. Together with the hardened front arch, this results in enormous hardness and durability. Duotone is even prepared to offer a two-year unlimited warranty on all SILVER models – even for bending!
The wave-oriented SILVER models consist of three segments and have a one-piece aluminium rear arch in addition to the intelligent iFRONT 2.0 front end. Together with the RDM tubes at 28 mm, this creates the ideal combination of stiffness and comfort. The bend curve applies an even pull on the mast- and backhand. The lengths 180 and 200 cm with performance bend curve are specifically for freeride sails and a 30 mm tube diameter to ensure maximum stiffness.
The solid PROTECTION GRIP coating on the outside effectively prevents damage to the coating when rigging up.

IFRONT 2.0
A VERTICAL STIFFNESS:
Unlike other front-ends Duotone uses 50% longer stainless steel axle-bolts which are directly connected to the side walls. Thus we obtain a maximum vertical/torsion stiffness, which results in an extremely direct connection/transmission of boom to mast (= maximum performance).
B HORIZONTAL FLEXIBILITY:
The partially recessed center of the collar gives the iFRONT 2.0 a kind of hinge function, so that the collar fits to any mast diameter without any gap (= very smooth on the mast and extremely slip resistant). Duotone knows of no other front-end that fits so smoothly around the mast and thus effectively protects the mast.

This exceptional fit is guaranteed on SDM as well as RDM masts as the iFRONT 2.0 can easily be adapted through the exchange of 2 different friction pads.

WIDE WAVE TAIL GEOMETRY
EQUAL LOAD ON BOTH HANDS AND IMPROVED HANDLING! Also the short booms now feature a 4 cm wider tail-end moving your back-hand further away from the sail. For the first time now your back- and front-hand are equally angled making sailing less fatigue. You immediately realize this much more relaxed sailing position no matter if going in a straight line or down the line on a wave. The second advantage is a much improved handling during ducking maneuvers
VTS TAIL
Since 1992 all Duotone sails feature VTS dots clearly showing the right downhaul tension. With the introduction of the VTS TAIL designers have finally made the correct outhaul tension visible as well. Due to the integrated visual indicator and rope markings now you have the perfect outhaul trim every session

OVAL TAIL SECTION
The rear part of the boom has a similar impact on overall stiffness as the head, and it is crucial how extended the spigot is. In contrast to the front part, where forces act in many directions, 90% of the forces acting on the rear of the boom occur horizontally, as the main force comes from the sail's pull directed in the plane of the boom. Since the forces act only in one direction, the most effective geometry here is an asymmetrical oval cross-section. This solution increases the stiffness of SILVER booms by as much as 30%!
