Performance for small to medium waves
The Volt D/LAB was developed by Sky Solbach together with Duotone Team riders Pedro Matos, Matchu Lopes and Sebastian Ribeiro. Its performance is focused on dynamic riding in small to medium surf, particularly when the swell is weak and the waves are soft and underpowered.
The board gets up to speed quickly with minimal kite support, allowing the rider to make better use of slower sections and maintain flow between manoeuvres.
Low-entry rocker and front-foot volume
The low-entry rocker works together with increased volume and surface area under the front foot. This geometry helps generate drive quickly and maintain momentum when wave energy is limited.
As a result, the Volt D/LAB remains efficient in weaker conditions and needs only minimal kite support to accelerate, allowing the rider to focus more on using the wave itself.
Double Concave Bottom
The refined Double Concave Bottom improves grip and precision through turns. It allows the rider to engage the rail harder, draw tighter arcs and maintain control during more vertical manoeuvres on the wave face.
The bottom shape supports aggressive riding without sacrificing stability, providing greater freedom in both carving and quick directional changes.
Carbon D/LAB – low weight and direct response
The lightweight Carbon D/LAB construction delivers very fast response to rider input and high sensitivity underfoot. Reduced weight supports quick direction changes and dynamic handling in the pocket.
The direct character of the construction works with the compact, performance-oriented shape of the Volt D/LAB to create a board suited to technical and progressive wave riding.
Innegra Reinforcement
Innegra reinforcement is applied in critical areas, particularly around the rails, increasing impact resistance without compromising the lightweight and responsive character of the construction.
Innegra also reduces high-frequency vibration, helping the board feel smoother and more stable in choppy conditions.
RMF Shock Absorber 3.0
Reflex Memory Foam (RMF) combined with the Innegra Shield creates a lightweight damping system without compromising the overall strength of the board.
RMF has a memory effect, allowing small heel dents to gradually recover over time. This helps reduce permanent deformation of the board surface.
RMF Shock Absorber 3.0 absorbs impacts and reduces vibration, improving comfort and connection with the board during powerful manoeuvres and landings.
Dynamic flex and Grab Rails
Optimized bamboo layers combined with composite materials provide dynamic flex and torsional response, supporting agility and powerful, precise handling.
Grab Rails make the board easier to hold during freestyle tricks while also improving durability and providing a comfortable grip during general use.
MultiBox
The MultiBox system uses Futures-compatible fin boxes with side set screws and no rear tab. High manufacturing tolerances allow the use of high-quality composite and aftermarket Futures fins, while installation and removal remain easy even when sand or salt is present.
