Performance for small waves and strapless freestyle
The Whip SLS was designed by Sky Solbach as a dynamic board combining small-wave riding with strapless freestyle. Its compact shape promotes quick direction changes and direct response to rider input, making it equally suited to tight pocket riding and freestyle manoeuvres.
The Whip SLS is focused on fast transitions, high responsiveness and precise handling, even when the waves offer limited power.
Hip-squash tail, rocker and thin rails
The hip-squash tail combined with increased rocker enables fast and precise top turns. The shape of the tail supports dynamic direction changes, making it particularly effective for more aggressive riding in the pocket.
Thinner rails improve grip and control when engaging the rail. They help the rider hold the chosen line with confidence and maintain precision through more powerful turns.
Fast acceleration in weaker waves
The fast, drive-oriented rocker line works together with a channelled bottom shape. This combination helps generate speed quickly and maintain momentum through weaker, softer sections of the wave.
The board remains reactive and efficient, making it easier to link manoeuvres smoothly without relying excessively on kite power.
SLS, Innegra and dynamic flex
The SLS construction uses Innegra fibres instead of traditional fibreglass. This creates a lightweight and durable structure with a lively, responsive and predictable feel.
The Innegra Shield improves dent resistance and reduces vibration, providing better control in choppy water and a smoother board feel at higher speeds.
Optimized bamboo layers combined with composite materials provide dynamic flex and torsional response. This supports agility and direct board response during fast manoeuvres.
Cork Shock Absorber 2.0
Cork Shock Absorber 2.0 is applied in areas exposed to high pressure. The cork layer absorbs impacts and then reforms, helping prevent visible dents while maintaining the structural integrity of the board.
The system also reduces impacts and vibration, improving comfort without compromising direct board feel.
Grab Rails and MultiBox
Grab Rails make the board easier to hold during freestyle tricks while also improving durability and providing a comfortable grip during general handling.
The MultiBox system uses Futures-compatible fin boxes with side set screws and no rear tab. High manufacturing tolerances allow the use of high-quality composite and aftermarket Futures fins, while the design makes installation and removal easier even when sand or salt is present.
