Performance Freeride with a new outline
The Select SLS 2027 features a completely new outline with increased width and a larger planing surface. This helps the board get on plane earlier and improves low-end performance, while also adding stability in variable conditions and making landings softer and more controlled.
Despite the wider shape, the Select SLS retains a lively Performance Freeride character. It is designed for smooth, fast riding, easy speed maintenance, and comfort throughout longer sessions.
Textreme Innegra and Biax Carbon – lightweight SLS construction
The SLS construction combines Textreme Innegra and Biax Carbon to keep the board lightweight while creating a responsive yet forgiving Flex Pattern. The board reacts directly to rider input while maintaining a smoother feel underfoot.
Innegra fibres improve vibration damping and help the board glide cleanly through chop. Reduced vibration supports more precise edging while also limiting the impact transferred to the knees and back.
Soft Flex and Absorption Flex Tips for changing conditions
Soft Flex uses softer materials, thinner cores, and dedicated geometries to create a smoother and more forgiving response. This helps absorb impacts and reduce rider fatigue when riding through rough water.
Absorption Flex Tips work together with the scoop rocker line to adapt the board’s behaviour to changing conditions. In lighter winds, the shape stays flatter to support quick planing. In stronger winds, the scoop bends more to increase control and stability. The flexible tips also help cushion landings.
Double Concave Bottom for smoother riding through chop
The Double Concave Bottom channels water along two concave lines, increasing grip and stability. This supports precise control, smooth planing, and responsive transitions through turns.
In chop, the bottom shape helps soften impacts and keep the board composed. Combined with Soft Flex and Absorption Flex Tips, it creates a comfortable platform for fast freeride riding even in more demanding water conditions.
Space Flex Technology for carving and dynamic board response
Space Flex Technology allows the board to adapt dynamically to the water surface. A stiff outer frame works together with flexible tips to provide smooth water release and support early planing.
During carving, the construction can flex progressively through the turn, creating smooth and responsive direction changes. Reduced swing weight also makes tricks easier to initiate and helps speed up rotations.
Angled Rails and Torsion Flex for grip and efficient upwind riding
Angled Rails increase edge grip, improving upwind efficiency and making it easier to maintain speed. The stronger hold also creates a more responsive release during take-off.
Torsion Flex uses a unique 3D cap shape to allow controlled torsion along the board’s length. This improves heel-side grip, direct drive, smooth landings, and overall upwind performance.
Performance Outline for more surface area and improved low-end
The Performance Outline provides more comfort through chop, improves low-end performance, and helps create softer landings. Due to the characteristics of this shape, Duotone recommends choosing a slightly longer board. As an example, the brand suggests moving from 138 × 41 cm to 141 × 41 cm.
