Freeride focused on comfort and easy handling
The Select Concept Blue 2027 is designed as a versatile freeride twintip for riders who value smooth cruising, predictable handling, and comfort throughout the session. Its wider outline increases surface area, helping the board plane earlier and improving low-end performance.
The additional surface also supports stability in variable conditions and contributes to softer, more controlled landings. As a result, the Select Concept Blue maintains an easy and forgiving character while still delivering the responsiveness needed for faster riding and carving.
Concept Blue Construction – Flax and Basalt
Concept Blue Construction uses Flax and Basalt fibres. Flax Fibre replaces traditional Glass Fibre and improves vibration damping, while Basalt Fibre, derived from volcanic rock, increases both torsional and longitudinal stiffness.
This combination creates a smooth, natural Flex Pattern while maintaining a responsive and sporty feel. The construction helps reduce vibration and smooth out the ride through chop without making the board feel dull. According to Duotone, the use of these materials also reduces the board’s CO₂ footprint, while all Concept Blue boards are produced using 100% solar energy.
Soft Flex and Absorption Flex Tips for a smoother ride
Soft Flex uses softer materials, thinner cores, and dedicated geometries to create a more forgiving response under load. This allows the board to absorb impacts more effectively and helps reduce rider fatigue during longer sessions.
Absorption Flex Tips work together with the scoop rocker line. In lighter winds, the board stays flatter to support quick planing, while in stronger winds the scoop bends more to improve control and stability. The flexible tips also help cushion landings.
Double Concave Bottom for stability and control in chop
The Double Concave Bottom channels water along two concave lines, increasing grip and stability. This design supports smooth planing, precise control, and responsive transitions through turns.
In rougher water, the bottom shape helps keep the board composed and controlled. Combined with Soft Flex and Absorption Flex Tips, it contributes to a smoother and more forgiving ride, especially in chop and during harder landings.
Space Flex Technology for fluid carving
Space Flex Technology allows the board to adapt dynamically to the water surface. A stiff outer frame works together with flexible tips to support smooth water release and early planing.
During carving, the board can flex progressively through the turn while maintaining a light and responsive feel. Reduced swing weight also makes tricks easier to initiate and helps speed up rotations.
Angled Rails and Torsion Flex for efficient upwind riding
Angled Rails increase edge grip, making it easier to maintain speed and ride efficiently upwind. Combined with the wider outline, they help improve tracking and overall control during freeride sessions.
Torsion Flex uses a unique 3D cap shape to create controlled torsion along the board’s length. This improves heel-side grip, direct drive, smooth landings, and overall upwind performance.
Performance Outline for improved low-end and comfort
The Performance Outline is designed to deliver a smoother ride through chop, improved low-end performance, and softer landings. Duotone recommends choosing a slightly longer board with this shape than with a more traditional outline. As an example, the brand suggests moving from 138 × 41 cm to 141 × 41 cm.
