Freestyle and Big Air kiteboarding with Concept Blue Construction
The Jaime Concept Blue 2027 combines the proven Jaime shape with a construction based on Flax and Basalt fibres. It is designed for kitesurfers progressing in Freestyle and Big Air who need strong edge hold, powerful pop, and predictable handling at speed and during landings.
The shape keeps a sporty, performance-oriented character while still providing smooth handling and confident control across a wide range of kiteboarding conditions.
Concept Blue Construction – Flax and Basalt
Concept Blue Construction uses Flax Fibre instead of traditional Glass Fibre together with Basalt Fibre derived from volcanic rock. Flax improves damping, while Basalt increases torsional and longitudinal stiffness.
This combination creates a reactive, sporty Flex Pattern with strong energy return while also helping smooth out the ride through chop. According to Duotone, the material setup reduces the board’s CO₂ footprint, while all Concept Blue boards are produced using 100% solar energy.
Double Rocker Line Concept – strong grip before take-off
The Double Rocker Line Concept channels water along two defined rocker lines, increasing traction while edging. This allows the rider to load the board harder before a jump and maintain control while building tension.
The stronger grip supports a cleaner release and more explosive take-offs, especially for Big Air. The design also improves upwind tracking and contributes to smoother handling in choppy water.
Hard Flex – aggressive pop and direct control
Hard Flex provides the most aggressive flex characteristics in the Duotone range. The increased stiffness allows the board to load efficiently before take-off and release energy quickly.
The stiffer construction also improves precision during hard edging and provides more control during heavier landings, matching the demands of Freestyle and Big Air kitesurfing.
Angled Fins and Angled Rails – stronger edge hold
Angled Fins increase grip and directional control when the board is heavily loaded. They help maintain a stable line during aggressive approaches and allow the rider to use the edge more confidently before take-off.
Angled Rails further increase edge hold, improve upwind efficiency, and create a more responsive release during pop.
Double Diffusor Bottom – more stable landings
The Double Diffusor Bottom absorbs impact and stabilizes the board during touchdown. This helps make landings after high jumps and more powerful tricks smoother and more controlled.
The design also helps reduce the impact of repeated hard landings, improving comfort during more demanding kiteboarding sessions.
Double Concave Bottom – grip and control in rough water
The Double Concave Bottom channels water along two concave lines, increasing grip, stability, and pop. The shape supports precise control, smooth planing, and responsive transitions through turns.
It also helps the board remain composed in chop and after harder landings, complementing the more aggressive character of Hard Flex.
