Wave and Strapless Freestyle
Neo has long been one of the key Wave models in the Duotone range. It is designed for modern wave riding and progressive Strapless Freestyle, where control, stability, drift and predictable power delivery are essential.
Its balanced construction gives the kite a calm, intuitive character even in gusty wind, steep wave sections and technical surfing conditions. This allows the rider to focus on the board and the wave instead of constantly managing the kite.
Drift for down-the-line riding
One of Neo’s defining characteristics is its outstanding drift. The kite follows the rider smoothly with minimal line tension, allowing a natural surfing style without excessive pull from the kite.
This is particularly important during powerful bottom turns, when attacking steep sections or when riding directly towards the kite. Neo remains stable and ready to respond as soon as the rider makes the next steering input.
Direct and intuitive steering
Neo reacts directly to bar input without becoming nervous or overly aggressive. Its balanced handling makes it easier to place the kite precisely during turns, direction changes and fast corrections on the wave.
A clear sense of the kite’s position helps maintain control in demanding conditions where the situation on the water can change very quickly.
Smooth and progressive power delivery
Power builds smoothly and consistently across the wind range, without sudden spikes in pull. This helps the rider maintain balance and the intended line through technical Wave manoeuvres.
The same characteristics are also useful in Strapless Freestyle, where predictable kite behaviour is important during take-offs, footwork and aerial manoeuvres.
Stable canopy construction
The optimized canopy profile supports flight stability and helps limit unwanted kite movement in changing conditions. Combined with the refined bridle setup, it provides predictable handling and supports efficient relaunch after the kite falls into the water.
Neo is designed to relaunch quickly and with minimal effort, including in breaking surf where getting the kite back into the air efficiently is especially important.
Lightweight and durable construction
Leading Edge Intersegment Seam Construction increases airframe strength and stiffness while improving direct flight stability, all in a lightweight construction.
Micro Loop Connection is 40% smaller than on regular models, helping reduce weight on the Leading Edge. Micro Batten Construction is also 40% lighter than the standard solution, reducing overall weight without compromising durability or performance.
Refined line connections
Double-V Pigtails distribute the load at the kite’s line attachment points. This helps reduce material fatigue, limits distortion and supports smoother steering.
Anti Snag webbing helps prevent lines from tangling around the kite tip, making relaunch easier and improving safety. Kook Proof Connectors help prevent incorrect line attachment during setup.
