What the Spike Concept Blue is for
This board is made for light-wind sessions where you still want to ride comfortably and stay efficient upwind. Spike CB focuses on early planing, easy starts, and keeping speed through lulls—so you can turn “almost enough wind” into a proper session.
Large surface area = easier waterstarts
More surface area underfoot improves lift and stability at low speed. In practice, it makes getting the board positioned and moving in light wind noticeably easier, reducing the stuck-in-place moments during waterstarts.
Flat rocker: early planing and smooth glide
A flat rocker is a classic light-wind ingredient because it reduces drag when accelerating. The board builds speed with less effort, glides smoothly, and keeps momentum better when the wind drops.
New outline + angled rails: upwind control and carving
The updated outline is tuned for smooth carving and predictable handling. Angled rails are designed to hold an edge efficiently, supporting strong upwind performance—especially important when the wind is light and it’s easier to lose ground downwind.
Flax Fiber construction: comfort in chop
Flax Fiber is used for its damping properties, helping smooth out vibration and harshness when the water gets messy. That comfort benefit matters in light wind conditions where chop can still be present and long reaches add up.
Basalt for a more responsive ride
Basalt is added to increase responsiveness and feedback, so the board doesn’t feel dull or “rubbery.” You get a livelier, more connected feel through edging and turns.

A medium flex balances comfort and control. It stays stable and forgiving in light wind freeride, while still feeling agile enough for carving and progressing your riding.
