The Unit SLS 2027 takes the versatile character of the original Unit to a higher performance level. It is designed for riders looking for more power, a stiffer construction, and a more direct response across Freeride, Freestyle, and Wave riding.
The SLS construction reduces weight while increasing frame stiffness. This allows the wing to react faster to rider input and transfer power more directly, while retaining the versatility needed across a wide range of conditions.
PentaTX and Aluula Gold – lightweight and stiff SLS frame
The frame combines lightweight and stiff 135 g PentaTX with an 82 g Aluula Gold center panel. This material combination increases structural stiffness while reducing overall weight.
Reduced frame deformation under load translates into faster response, more direct power transfer, and a more connected feel in the rider’s hands.
Shorter Strut – compact handling
The shorter strut reduces swing weight and gives the Unit SLS a more compact feel. The wing is easier to reposition during maneuvers, transitions, and dynamic Freestyle riding.
Reduced swing weight also improves control through gusts and lulls, helping the wing maintain smoother and more predictable handling.
More low-end power and stronger drive
In the smaller sizes, the Unit SLS retains the same leading-edge diameter as the original Unit. Combined with the stiffer construction, this provides additional grunt and improved low-end power.
The extra drive helps riders get onto foil earlier and maintain power through transitions while preserving direct and precise handling.
Refined Profile Distribution – efficient power and stable flagging
The profile is shallower in the center and deeper towards the quarter span. This distribution improves power efficiency while enhancing stability when the wing is flagged out.
While riding waves or swell, the Unit SLS remains balanced in a neutral position, allowing the rider to focus more on foil control instead of constantly correcting the wing.
Optimized Canopy Tension and Tip Twist
Fine-tuned canopy tension and Tip Twist improve aerodynamics and draft stability. The profile remains cleaner under load, resulting in a more direct response to changes in wing position.
Stable draft provides precise and predictable power delivery in variable wind while reinforcing the more performance-oriented character of the SLS construction.
MOD3s Canopy – stability and durability
The Unit SLS uses high-performance MOD3s material in the canopy. It improves durability, helps maintain canopy tension, and supports consistent performance over time.
Molded Mini Batten Pockets further stabilize the canopy and help preserve its intended profile during regular use.
Fusion Boom & Handle Option – choose your preferred setup
The Fusion system allows the Unit SLS to be used with either a boom or handles. Riders can choose the control setup that best suits their preferences and riding style without changing the wing itself.
Wide Leading Edge Handle – control while surfing
The wide leading-edge handle makes one-handed wing control easier while surfing and flagging. It provides comfortable control when riding on the energy of the wave or swell.
