High aspect ratio and outstanding efficiency
The Glide 3.0 SLS represents the next evolution of Duotone’s proven Glide platform and shares the same design DNA as the D/LAB version. Depending on size, its aspect ratio ranges from 11.0 to 12.0, increasing efficiency, reducing drag, and allowing the wing to carry speed over longer distances.
Despite its high-aspect geometry, the wing retains a playful and agile character, combining efficient glide with responsive carving and dynamic direction changes.
Stall-friendly profile for low-speed performance
The Glide 3.0 SLS uses a stall-friendly profile concept inspired by the Crest D/LAB. It generates accessible low-end lift and remains predictable close to stall.
This makes it easier to stay on foil in low-energy conditions while providing a huge usable speed range. Smooth and predictable power delivery also supports control while accelerating or slowing down.
Efficient pumping and extended glide
The refined profile and high aspect ratio improve pumping efficiency, allowing riders to maintain flight with less energy and reduce fatigue during longer sessions.
The wing retains momentum efficiently, extending glide phases and making it easier to connect waves and bumps. This characteristic is particularly valuable for Downwind and Parawing sessions.
Optimized Chord Taper
Optimized chord distribution and taper are designed to improve both pumping and glide efficiency.
The geometry minimizes energy loss during flight, allowing the Glide 3.0 SLS to cover distance efficiently without requiring constant, intensive pumping.
Moustache-style curvature – agile handling
The characteristic moustache-style curvature with upturned wing tips provides a loose and dynamic roll response.
The Glide 3.0 SLS reacts quickly when initiating turns and transitions smoothly from side to side. The upturned tips also allow controlled breaching when a wing tip exits the water without causing an abrupt loss of stability.
Versatility across multiple foil disciplines
The Glide 3.0 SLS is designed for Wing Foiling, Prone Foiling, Parawinging, and Downwind. Its efficiency is especially valuable in disciplines where maintaining flight and connecting waves or bumps are key.
The larger sizes offer exceptional low-end capability, allowing riders to use even small bumps for Downwind and Parawing runs. According to Duotone, this also opens up new possibilities for sessions on lakes and inland waters.
Compatibility
The Glide 3.0 SLS works with all current Duotone masts and stabilizers.
It can also be combined with the new Monobloc Tails when using the new Fuselage Frontpiece AL 3BS.
