A freeride kite with true light wind focus
Moto_XL Apex is based on the proven Moto platform, but tuned specifically for light wind freeride use. The hybrid 3-strut layout, draft-forward profiles and low drag wing tips work together to improve efficiency and power generation, especially in the lower part of the wind range.
This gives the kite strong pull to get you moving, while still allowing it to fly forward in the window once you build speed. That balance matters in light wind, because it helps not only with take-off and planing, but also with upwind performance and overall range.

The size concept is very deliberate in this model. Instead of creating heavily overlapping size ranges, Cabrinha tuned each size around rider weight. That means the 13, 15 and 17 are designed so most riders can choose one size based mainly on their build and local conditions, rather than needing multiple overlapping light wind kites.

Efficiency without losing agility
One of the strong points of the Moto_XL Apex is that it does not aim to deliver raw pull at the expense of steering and responsiveness. Cabrinha kept the modern Moto feel, so despite the larger sizes, the kite still offers agile handling and intuitive control.
The Apex Bridle plays an important role here. Its thinner lines and lower elongation help improve efficiency and give a more reactive steering feel. As a result, the kite feels cleaner and more direct in the air, which is especially valuable in lighter wind where every movement counts.
Materials and construction
The canopy is made from Teijin D2 Ripstop, a lightweight material with very good durability and strong bias control. Cabrinha combines it with Ultra HT, a material developed specifically for kite leading edges. Ultra HT helps reduce weight while maintaining high stiffness, low elongation and quick response.
The Pure Form Panels also contribute to the overall performance by creating cleaner and more accurate entry profiles. Better airflow at the front of the kite improves aerodynamic efficiency and helps the kite stay balanced and stable in lighter conditions.
Additional details such as trailing edge EVA rigidity battens and durable TPU leading edge bumpers support long-term use and help maintain a clean, controlled structure over time.
