Barefoot System – direct board feel
The Barefoot System developed by French neoprene specialist ATAN uses an exceptionally soft and flexible natural latex sole. Its thin construction minimizes the barrier between the foot and the board, providing a natural and direct feel while riding.
3 mm neoprene for summer conditions
ATAN Sunfast is made from 3 mm mineral-based neoprene. The glued and sewn construction is designed for warmer conditions, providing foot protection while maintaining a high level of flexibility.
The boot also features Plush Titanium to support the thermal performance of the neoprene.
Natural latex sole
The thin sole is made from 100% natural latex. It provides very good grip on the board while remaining exceptionally soft and flexible.
According to ATAN, the natural latex offers up to 700% elongation, helping it resist cuts and punctures while maintaining its flexibility.
Protection and easy handling
Sunfast is designed to be easy to put on and take off. Its flexible construction provides a comfortable fit, while the ankle cord helps keep the boot securely positioned.
The boots protect the feet during contact with the board and the ground, which is particularly useful on slippery surfaces and around sharp reefs.
For multiple watersports
ATAN Sunfast 3mm is designed for surfing, windsurfing, wingfoiling, kitesurfing, and other watersports. Its construction combines lightweight neoprene protection with high flexibility and excellent board feel.
Handcrafted in France
ATAN boots are handcrafted in the brand’s workshop in Ardèche, France. The company has been manufacturing its products in France since 1983.
Care for natural latex
After use, ATAN recommends rinsing the boots with fresh water and allowing them to dry without turning them inside out. Once dry, the latex can be treated with talcum powder. Store the boots in a cool place away from direct light, UV exposure, and hydrocarbons.
