Barefoot System – direct board feel
The Barefoot System developed by French neoprene specialist ATAN uses an exceptionally soft and flexible natural latex sole. Its thin construction minimizes the barrier between the foot and the board, creating the characteristic barefoot-like feel ATAN boots are known for.
3 mm neoprene for warmer conditions
ATAN Madi Halfboot is made from 3 mm mineral-based neoprene. The glued and sewn construction is designed primarily for warmer conditions, providing foot protection while maintaining a high level of flexibility.
The Plush Titanium interior supports thermal comfort without compromising the soft and flexible character of the boot.
Split Toe – improved foot stability
The Split Toe construction separates the big toe from the other toes. This helps stabilize the foot inside the boot and improves hold when applying pressure to the board or changing position dynamically.
An ankle cord provides additional support and helps keep the boot properly positioned.
100% natural latex sole
The thin sole is made from 100% natural latex. It provides very good grip and high flexibility, allowing the foot to move naturally on the board.
According to ATAN, the natural latex used offers up to 700% elongation while maintaining strong resistance to cuts and punctures.
For multiple watersports
ATAN Madi Halfboot 3mm is designed for surfing, windsurfing, wingfoiling, kitesurfing, and other watersports. Its construction combines lightweight neoprene protection with excellent board feel.
Handcrafted in France
ATAN boots are handcrafted in Ardèche, France. The brand has been manufacturing its products in France since 1983.
Care for natural latex
After use, ATAN recommends rinsing the boots with fresh water and allowing them to dry without turning them inside out. Once dry, the latex can be treated with talcum powder. Store the boots in a cool place away from direct light, UV exposure, and hydrocarbons.
