AERYN Surge Carbon is designed for riders looking for maximum compactness and maneuverability. Its shorter, wider outline supports quick transitions, tight turns and fast rotations while providing a stable platform for landings.
The board is aimed at both freestyle and dynamic freeride use. Its compact proportions help reduce inertia, allowing the Surge to react quickly to rider input and stay controlled during aggressive maneuvers.
Lowered deck and direct control
The lowered deck reduces thickness directly under the rider’s feet, improving the connection between rider, board and foil. This creates a more direct feel, especially during dynamic transitions and technical maneuvers.
Rider stance and US rail positioning are optimized to reduce inertia and maintain ideal balance in flight. AERYN’s proprietary positioning algorithm further contributes to the compact and responsive character of the board.
Thicker nose and controlled landings
The thicker nose is designed to soften landings while also supporting early lift-off. This is particularly important in freestyle, where the board regularly reconnects with the water after jumps and rotations.
Refined rails improve lateral stability and reduce drag during touchdowns. This helps the board maintain smooth, controlled behavior when it contacts the water.
Stepped hull and efficient acceleration
The Surge uses a stepped hull design that reduces resistance around the foil plate area. The shape is focused on maximizing acceleration before takeoff and supporting efficient lift onto the foil.
Combined with the compact outline and optimized rider position, this creates a platform built for quick response and efficient transitions between maneuvers.
Carbon + PVC + Kevlar Sandwich
Surge Carbon uses the same carbon sandwich construction as the Flux. The Carbon + PVC + Kevlar structure is designed to deliver high stiffness and durability for hard landings and aggressive carving.
Carbon-Kevlar reinforces impact-prone areas, while Bi-Axial Carbon increases strength and stiffness throughout the board. The stiff rail structure translates rider input quickly, creating a direct feel during freestyle and freeride sessions.
The Feather-Light EPS Core is supported by fiberglass stringers for additional strength and stiffness. Footstrap plugs and foil tracks are reinforced with fiberglass, while Impact-Resistant PU Foam and a Scratch-Resistant PU Coat provide additional protection against impacts and surface scratches.
