Roam
< back
Roam Surf Accessories began with the creation of Roam Boardbags, designed to stealthily store 2 or 3 surfboards with more padding but less weight. These bags feature durable outers, wax-resistant inners, and extra space for a wetsuit, towel, and other gear. Slightly wider and longer than the labeled size, they ensure a perfect fit for various boards.
Inspired by surf trips, Roam expanded its range to include tail pads, leashes, fins, and roof rack pads, all designed for simplicity and effectiveness. Roam offers travel-tested equipment you can rely on.

Roam – Equipment for Surf Travel and Protection
Roam is a specialized surf accessory brand focused on the design and manufacture of durable, travel-optimized equipment for surfers. Its range includes boardbags, leashes, traction pads, and transport accessories, all developed to meet the practical demands of surf trips and daily board handling.
Construction and Features
Roam’s product development prioritizes material strength, weather resistance, and functionality. The designs are adapted for surfboards in various shapes and sizes, with protection against mechanical damage, UV radiation, and moisture.
- Reinforced Boardbags – constructed with 5–10 mm foam padding, heat-reflective lining, and abrasion-resistant exteriors.
- Salt-Resistant Zippers – heavy-duty molded zippers reduce failure risk in humid or coastal conditions.
- Non-Adhesive Linings – internal tarpee layers simplify loading and unloading by preventing wax buildup.
- Streamlined Shape Matching – cuts optimized for shortboards, hybrids, fish, and longboards across single and multi-board formats.
Product Applications in Surfing
Roam accessories are developed for surfboard protection, control, and transport under varied travel and surf conditions:
- Boardbags – single and multi-board bags, including coffin-style options with wheels for extended surf travel. Suitable for air, car, and boat transport.
- Traction Pads – multi-piece EVA designs with high-grip textures and kick tails, optimized for rear foot placement and turning stability.
- Leashes – urethane leashes with dual swivels, padded ankle cuffs, and varied cord thicknesses for different wave sizes and board types.
- Roof Rack Pads – EVA or foam-covered pads to secure surfboards during car transit without pressure dents or strap abrasion.
Surf Travel Context
Roam products are designed to support surf logistics—from local spot commutes to international surf trips. Emphasis is placed on compact transport, quick setup, and board longevity under repeated loading and handling.
This gear addresses the needs of surfers transporting boards through airport terminals, carrying them across beaches and reef entries, or storing them between sessions in exposed outdoor environments.
