reSURF — how we grade gear condition
Every product in reSURF is inspected and graded before it goes on sale. The grade tells you what the gear looks like and where it came from — before you even read the product description.
Condition grades
We use four grades: A, B, C and D. They differ in the level of wear and visual condition — but every one of them means gear that's ready to ride.
Like new or almost new
- minimal or no signs of use
- no repairs
- clean visual condition
- no impact on performance
Lightly used, well maintained
- minor cosmetic marks — small scratches, light scuffs
- no structural issues
- fully functional
Visibly used, fully functional
- visible signs of use
- possible professional repairs
- no impact on performance
- fully functional
Heavily used, still functional
- clear signs of heavy use
- visible wear or repairs
- fully functional and safe
- all significant defects described in the listing
Which grade should you choose?
Not sure which grade to look for? This overview will help you decide.
| Grade | Visual condition | Choose if |
|---|---|---|
| A | Like new or almost new | You want gear with no visual compromises |
| B | Minor marks, overall very good | You want a lower price but not visibly worn gear |
| C | Visibly used, surface marks | Performance is what counts — you're after a budget option |
| D | Heavily used, clear wear | Lowest budget, you want to be on the water — not in a showroom |
What else is on the product page?
The grade is just the starting point. Every reSURF product page also includes:
- Gear source — where it came from: test pool, school fleet buy-back, return, display item, and more
- Detailed condition report — specific notes on each part of the product
- Product history — time in use, water type, any repairs carried out
- Additional notes — practical information you won't find in a standard condition description
