MaverX - premium Italian mast brand
MaverX is not just another “branded mast”, the parent company Reglass is responsible for making the most top end, high carbon percentage masts for the world’s leading brands. If anyone knows about masts it is Reglass. This company has almost 30 years of experience and it is the leader among producers of high end performance carbon parts - it is making carbon elements for premium luxury brands as Lamborghini, Ferrari and Ducati. Masts from this company are something like a “masterpiece” among other producer’s products. MaverX’ masts are designed and produced 100% in Italy and are made out of the highest quality, carbon fibers brought from Japan. It guarantees you the highest quality, precise Italian design and very detailed construction with attention to every detail, even the smallest one. MaverX got very popular and widely known for making mast which helped Irish rider Finian Maynard set windsurfing speed record which haven’t been beaten for 11 years. Also these masts are used by pro wave riders in Pozo, Gran Canaria. They are commonly known as unbreakable and heavy duty. MaverX masts perform amazingly even in most radical manoeuvres in every conditions, especially the hardcore ones. Their philosophy says that the mast, as a humans skeleton, holds the whole body. It is concealed by the sail and you cannot see it, but if it doesn't work well, all the equipment we have is useless no matter the quality. The company used highest quality carbon fibers to make product which provide the best performance, great durability, outstanding sail dynamics and lightweight of the mast. Additionally they are reinforced with one more layer on the boom height to ensure long lasting and durable product. MaverX uses exclusive carbons to get the best possible performance. Not content with “buying in” someone else’s prepreg they actually make it themselves in a highly controlled environment.

They are available in constructions with different carbon percentage. Every mast comes with carry bag for safe transport and better maintenance. RDM masts features safety, plastic overlay for mast base. Every mast has very precise, tight and solid connector which puts mast base with top together - it ensures perfect, tight connection which prevents from sanding and water absorption inside the mast.
MaverX Masts for 2017 come with 12 months producer’s warranty and additional warranty for next 12 months from EASY SURF as a proof of our belief in reliability and durability of the MaverX masts.
MaverX has worked hard to ensure their masts not only rig the vast majority of modern sails well but often enhance the sails performance compared to even the sail brands own masts. Below is list of tested and checked compatibility of different brand’s sails with solid performance.
- Gaastra
- Vandal
- NorthSails
- Loftsails
- Ezzy
- Goya
- Gun
- Naish
- Neilpryde
- Point7
- Severne
- Simmer
- Tushingham
Below is the short characteristic and description of each 2017 model
MX 70
- 370 cm - weight 1,55 kg
- 400 cm - weight 1,75 kg
- 430 cm - weight 2,15 kg
- 460 cm - weight 2,30 kg
The bend characteristic is a constant curve i. e it shares the same bend curves as the Mx 100 and Mx 85 that can perfectly fit the vast majority of available modern sails. For sure you’ll completely appreciate the difference from other masts on the water. The bottom is coated with a protective transparent foil to protect the mast from scratches and dents plus reducing the wear of graphics caused by UV rays. The junction has an EVA clean cap to help preventing sand to stuck the top and bottom together.
MX 85
- 340 cm - weight 1,35 kg
- 370 cm - weight 1,44 kg
- 400 cm - weight 1,65 kg
- 430 cm - weight 2,05 kg
The new MX 85 is an 85% Wave-Freestyle mast derived from the most sold masts of MaverX’s range, the stilo 288. It has received a few improvements such a slight reduction in weight, a shorter junction and a new resin developed to impregnate the carbon fibers. This is an excellent mast and has just a few grams more of its big brother the MX 100 yet the performances and the range of use are similar. This level of performance has been achieved using the top quality carbon fibres and optimising the whole design. The mast is extremely easy to control, making reliability, responsiveness and dynamic reflex its key features. The bottom is coated with a protective transparent foil to protect the mast from UV rays, scratches and dents and reduces the wear of graphics. The junction has an EVA clean cap to help preventing sand to stuck the top and bottom together. The curve is a constant curve that can fit perfectly the vast majority of the available modern sails .
MX 100
- 370 cm - weight 1,19 kg
- 400 cm - weight 1,35 kg
- 430 cm - weight 1,55 kg
- 460 cm - weight 1,90 kg
The new MaverX MX 100 contains all the technology, raw materials and knowledge that Reglass could possibly put into the mast. The three words the company had in mind while redesigning this top line were lightness, reflex, durability. To reach this goal MaverX combined high module carbon fibers with a resin developed in the company to prepare the “targeted” prepreg i.e what makes the mast eventually. The MX 100 is extremely responsive (higher reflex i.e more stable sail profile i.e better power control) and stable, and therefore a perfect choice in onshore typical conditions that are also gusty. The MX 100 vs Superleggero The MX 100 might be preferred not for the weight (they are quite similar in this regard) but when strong, gusty onshore conditions apply. If you are an aggressive windsurfer (you like overpowered conditions) this is for sure a better choice and will definitely improve your early planning.
The Superleggero
- 340 cm - weight 0,98 kg
- 370 cm - weight 1,17 kg
- 400 cm - weight 1,31 kg
- 430 cm - weight 1,55 kg
The MaverX Superleggero is one of the lightest performance mast on the planet (340 is Superleggero vs MX 100 The choice is not on the weight (both are the among the lightest masts available on the market) but more on their behaviour and your way of windsurfing. For acceleration especially in light conditions or when used by surfers who like to surf underpowered the Superleggero is unbeatable.
Veloce Pro 100
- 430 cm - waga 1,64 kg
- 460 cm - waga 1,95 kg
- 490 cm - waga 2,13 kg
- 520 cm - waga 2,30 kg
This is the highest performance mast ever built by MaverX, thanks to the use of more technologically advanced carbon fibres (with extremely high mechanical characteristics) which have been specifically preimpregnated to achieve exactly the characteristics we wanted to excel in this extremely technical discipline. The curves have been studied thoroughly, taking into account the precious feedback given by test riders on the water. MaverX have used these masts in the most developed race sails and in nearly every case the performance of the sail has been improved. Every detail has been checked because in this discipline the slightest difference in the rig make the difference between winning or losing a race.
Veloce 70
- 370 cm - weight 1,58 kg
- 400 cm - weight 1,97 kg
- 430 cm - weight 2,05 kg
- 460 cm - weight 2,21 kg
- 490 cm - weight 2,35 kg
MaverX Veloce is very high quality SDM mast with 70% carbon. Comes with Constant Curve (CC) bend characteristics. It provides very good and efficient sail performance and dynamic. It’s twin brother of the Veloce 100 pro. It outstands his opponents with very precise and detailed production, quality and versatility - works great with non cam crossover, slalom and freeride sails of vast majority producers. It’s recommended for riders who are looking for lightweight, reliable, very durable and high quality allround mast with high carbon percentage in affordable price. Despite being 70% carbon it’s made in prepreg technology to provide the same characteristic and as close as possible performance to premium MaverX masts with 100% carbon.
