Skywatch is back on our shelves. In this article, we would like to present and introduce you to the individual models of these sensational anemometers from Switzerland.
In our offer you will find standard models that display the measurement on the built-in display and those that you can connect to your smartphone. What are the differences between them, which model will meet your requirements? This article should dispel all your doubts.
The first question we should ask ourselves when choosing our new Skywatch is:"Do I want to check the weather information directly on the measuring instrument or display the measurement in real time when my phone connects to Skywatch® BL via Bluetooth?". Here we distinguish two categories of wind meters: manual and smartphone weather station.
We will first present you with the features of handheld wind meters.
Handheld windmeters
The handheld wind meters we have on our offer include the following models: Skywatch®Xplorer, Skywatch® Eole, Skywatch® Meteos, Skywatch® Atmos, with the Xplorer available in 4 versions. What is the difference between the different models, what are their functions and specifications - you will find out soon.
Skywatch® Xplorer.
According to manufacturer's website"As a pioneer in the field of manual anemometers, JDC Electronic has been focusing its efforts on the development of high quality anemometers for over 20 years with its Skywatch brand aiming to make the most perfect match of simplicity and efficiency"
Xplorer wind meters are simple in their design, but with high quality components, they will meet the expectations of even the most demanding users. Depending on the model, we have manydifferent functions at our disposal: wind, temperature, pressure, height and even a compass reading in degrees.

We probably already know everything about the Xplorer model, so let's have a look now at other handheld windmeters which are equipped with a large 54-millimetre propeller, so they don't need to be positioned precisely against the wind, i.e.: Skywatch® Eole, Skywatch® Meteos, Skywatch® Atmos.
Let's start with what these three models have in common. First of all, the already mentioned large propeller which accurately measures wind strength regardless of its direction. Secondly, a stronger and more durable construction compared to the Xplorer. Thirdly, a strong aluminiumbase with a thread(1/4″) for mounting on a photo tripod. What makes them different is the individual measuring instruments.

Skywatch® Meteos
Skywatch® Atmos
Momentary wind speed
Maximum wind speed
Medium wind speed
Air temperature

Humidity
And so Eole is recommended by the manufacturer for wind- and kitesurfers as a device that reads very precisely the speed of wind and is also unsinkable.
Meteos, with its even greater variety of functions, will also work perfectly as our handheld weather station during expeditions not only to the sea, but also to the mountains where the knowledge of the actual and perceived temperature will be important.
The Atmos, on the other hand, thanks to an additional hygrometer installed, will allow us to plan our adventures even better during sports and will make it easier to control and monitor the influence of weather conditions on crops in agriculture. Precision, ease of use and many other functions of Skywatch Atmos make it an indispensable device for farmers. Atmos will make it easier to make decisions before spraying crops and controlling the livestock environment.

It's about time for our impressions after six months of using the production version of the Fly.
The Fly made its entry into the market this year, marking a historic moment as Neil Pryde's first foray into the world of wingfoiling. Designed by Nils Rosenblad, known for his work on Pryde sails and equipment used in the America's Cup, it's no surprise that the Fly incorporates technical solutions and concepts that have been tried and tested in windsurfing sails for years.
