The Rusty Moby Fish Quad TEC was born from real-life testing, when the original Moby model unexpectedly proved itself in well-overhead surf. Despite its moderate size and fish outline, this board handles a surprisingly wide range of wave conditions, from mellow beach breaks to more powerful reef setups. It became a favorite not only among older surfers but also among skilled younger riders, who found it so fun and reliable they ordered exact duplicates—not scaled-down versions.
The board features a full outline for better paddle power and wave-catching ease. A relaxed entry rocker makes paddling smooth and efficient, while the more pronounced tail rocker allows the board to fit nicely into the wave face and perform responsive turns. The rails are fuller and slightly angular, with a lower apex that combines lift with stability and hold.
The TEC construction (Torq Epoxy Composite) uses a high-density EPS core and multi-layered fiberglass layup (6oz + 4oz on the deck, two layers on the base, four layers over the rails), offering impressive strength-to-weight ratio and flex control. It’s a modern, durable design suited to both progression and everyday fun.
