The Pocket is short and fast for riders looking for radical real-world wave riding. The straight rocker guarantees a fast ride no matter if the current is strong and the wind is gusty. When pressure is applied to the backfoot during wave riding, the Pocket turns radically tight and the wide tail carries speed through turns even in windswell and onshore winds. The compact outline makes it easy to spin new school moves like takas and shakas.
Tabou originally designed the Pocket for home breaks in Europe, but their team quickly found the board to be just as fun in the radical waves of Hawaii. New for 2018, channels in the tail make the Pocket faster, earlier to get planing, and easier to carve.
SIZES
There are 3 sizes to choose from, depending on your weight and wind/wave conditions. Volumes to choose are: 77, 87 and 97 liters, of which the 87 is by far the most popular and the best selling one. You’ll love this board!
BOARD SHAPE
The new Pocket is a modern wave board that is the result of 4 years of testing compact shapes. Originally Tabou designed the new Pocket for weaker, real-world waves, but their team riders love riding the Pocket at Hookipa too. Even though it is fast and easy to ride, when pressure is applied to the backfoot during wave riding, the new Pocket turns radically with lots of speed.
Tabou tested every kind of nose and tail shape, and the new Pocket features their favorite combination: a double-diamond tail and a normal nose, for a mix of maneuverability and comfort. The short length and winger outline make turning radically easy, which allowed to use a very straight rocker so that the Pocket accelerates even when the wind is light or the current is strong.
In summary:
Wide tail carries speed in turns. Straight rocker makes Pocket faster no matter if the current is strong and wind is gusty.
CHANNELS
New for 2018 are bottom channels in the tail, which make Pocket more dynamic and help in carves.
FOOTPADS AND STRAPS
Pocket features quality comfortable 3 Tabou footstraps. Please note the back footstrap has 2 screws each side so it will never twist. New pad design for 2018 reduces drag to get planing faster.
FIN BOXES AND FINS
Pocket is available to ride as a thruster fin setup. All boxes are slot boxes, where you mount your fins with 2 screws from the bottom of the board. They are very light boxes so your board won’t carry unnecessary weight at the tail.
Pocket is equipped with high class Maui Fin Company TF fins. This model is the most used thruster setup on the market. Excel in maneuverability and all around wave conditions.

TECHNOLOGY
ocket is build using Wave Flexlight Carbon/Innegra Sandwich technology which provides great durability, stiffness and makes board light.
SHAPER
This board, like all Tabou boards, comes from the hands of famous Fabien Vollenweider. This French designer has more than 25 years of experience in shaping windsurf boards.

I am a perfectionist and do not stop until I get what I want out of a board", says Fabien, and continues: “We don’t just change a board because a new year is coming. We change a board when we have learned that something can be improved. Our shapes evolve over a two year process.”
FAQ - frequently asked questions
These days all boards come without boardbag and without base plate. The reason behind is that many windsurfers they already have some older boardbags or base plates from their previous purchases, so it make no sense to include these items. Also, who would like to pay some extra euros or dollars?
Here at EASY SURF Shop we can assist you with picking up the right boardbag and base, which can be packed together and shipped to you. Please ask for a good quote for these extra accessories.
This is no problem, we can do it for you. It makes us to unpack the board from an original packaging (carton box, and plastic foil),, but we do it anyway to control the board befor dispatching to you.
As boards have a few options to screw the straps on, please indicate what you want.
Ah.. and don’t call us to fix the fin for you. That we won’t do… :).
Our main logistic warehouse is located in West Poland. This is a great location for sending goods all around the Europe and even further to some outside Europe destinations, as we have very good connections thru Germany. Sometimes we deliver boards straight from our partners’ warehouse, just to save on time.
As boards are too big to ship with UPS or DHL, we have to use big logistic forwarders like Kuehne+Nagel or TNT. That makes the whole operation a bit longer as it is not over night service. The shipping times varies from destination to destination, however it is a matter of 3-10 days. Please note sometimes we have to import the board from our supplier first (another few days).

We do extra efforts it wouldn’t happen: the board you purchase is quality checked before dispatching to you. It includes the packaging as well and if we find out that we need to pack it even better than the original packaging - we do it. So please don’t be confused if, for example you ordered Tabou board and it comes in a box with Starboard logo. That’s only because it was packed with additional box, coming from some Starboard.
But let’s be frank, taking into consideration that sometimes a board goes for 3000 km+ and being transferred from one to the other warehouse - it may happen that your board arrives with dings or damages. But don’t worry, we have a special procedure for that:
Before you sign any shipping documents
Please check if all items have not been damaged in transport. If any damage is visible, you have the right to refuse the delivery and ask to have it returned. If you cannot thoroughly check the goods please sign for as ‘unchecked’. It is your duty to inspect and confirm that the goods are in perfect condition before signing.
In any case, just inform us immediately.
But never worry - all shippings with boards are insured. You’ll never be left alone.
All windsurf boards we sell are manufactured in Far Easy, therefore it is not possible to send the board back to Thailand for their inspection or reparation. In order to deal with warranties straightforward we need to ask you to submit the following information.
- Receipt image
- Picture of serial number (you’ll find it easily near the mast track)
- Whole Product Image
- Detail Problem Image (maximum 4)
- Claim description - In your own words please describe what and how it happened.
