Character and purpose
Combat is an all-round wave sail that blends fast acceleration, balanced handling and a remarkably wide wind range. The 2026 update introduces a lighter, thinner batten above the boom, allowing the sail to fill quicker and produce more low-end power. This improves early planing and makes the sail feel lively and reactive even in marginal winds.
Construction and on-water behaviour
The higher aspect ratio introduced in 2024 remains, providing excellent drive upwind and smooth, efficient power delivery down the line. Combat maintains precise aerodynamic stability whether rigged full for light wind or tuned flatter for high-wind control. Its ability to stay composed in gusty conditions continues to be one of its strongest advantages.
Stability and durability
A refined luff curve and enlarged panel layout improve structural stiffness while reducing unnecessary seams and weight. Carefully selected materials create a clean, stable profile that remains dependable in heavy surf or at maximum speed on flat water.
4-batten layout
The four-batten design ensures minimal swing weight, fast depower in manoeuvres and instant response to rider input. The 2026 Combat is more reactive, providing better pop and precise handling during jumps and wave riding.
Constructions and differences between models...
Combat
Versatile and durable, offering the best balance of performance and value:
- Laminated Powerfuse tack and clew
- Black Ultra-PE Triax upper panels
- Ultra-PE in leech and head
- Ripstop Taffeta X-Ply luff
- Ultra-clear window for maximum visibility
Combat HD
Heavy Duty construction for riders who prioritise maximum durability:
- Power HD foot and clew with load-aligned Ultra PE yarns
- Black Ultra-PE Triax upper panels
- Ultra-PE X-Ply window for increased impact resistance
- Most durable construction in the range
Combat Pro Fuse
The lightest, most responsive option — the choice for PWA-level performance:
- Q-Bonded Aramid Pro Fuse tack and clew
- Ultra Scrim laminated panels in upper and mid body
- Ultra-clear window
- Lowest weight and highest responsiveness in the lineup
All three versions share the same design, geometry and handling characteristics, differing only in construction materials and weight.
Features

- Drive and acceleration - Higher aspect ratio with longer luff and narrower boom provides fast acceleration and strong low-end performance
- Wide wind range - Updated luff curve and larger panel layout deliver maximum tuning range from marginal winds to full-power conditions
- Stability - A refined profile and improved shaping keep the sail stable even in heavy gusts
- 4-batten layout - Light, reactive and efficient, with immediate response and reduced swing weight
- Power HD Technology - Load-aligned foot and clew construction improves durability and control (HD and Regular)
- Ultra-PE Triax / Ultra Scrim / Pro Fuse (depending on version) - Enhances strength, reduces weight and improves overall handling
- Clear or X-Ply window - Optimal visibility or increased durability depending on construction choice
