Character and purpose

The FireFly Pro has become a benchmark in the freeride/freestyle category, winning multiple tests and setting the standard for balanced, reactive handling. It generates power quickly, stays neutral when needed and responds instantly to rider input. The 2026 edition is even more refined thanks to a reinforced transition segment on the strut and lighter wingtip materials for improved balance.

Construction and materials

The leading edge uses AeroTex — a pro-level composite combining UHMWPE fibers with an Aramid X-Ply core and a protective film layer. This structure increases stiffness and durability while allowing for a reduced LE diameter. Sensitive areas such as the wingtips are built from AeroTex Light, around 10% lighter yet still highly stable, reducing swing weight and enhancing control. The canopy features 5x5 and 6x6 Ripstop panels for long-term shape stability, and the HD Poly X-Ply windows provide lightweight strength and clear visibility.

Performance on the water

The high-tension canopy design increases lift, acceleration and efficiency at both high and low angles of attack. FireFly Pro pumps efficiently, releases power smoothly and remains stable in gusts, making it ideal for fast transitions, jumps and wave riding. Integrated composite battens stabilize the trailing edge, reduce flutter and improve handling during high-speed maneuvers.

Ergonomics and equipment

The Carbon Mono Handle ensures a direct, low-weight and streamlined grip. The Tubular FireFly Bag fits the wing with the handle attached, and the shoulder strap doubles as a waist leash. A pump adapter and bladder repair kit are included. Leash sold separately.
