With 50% carbon content, it offers better response and lower weight than basic composite constructions, while still keeping a very good price-to-performance ratio.
NeilPryde considers 50% carbon the minimum recommended level for getting the proper performance from their sails without making clear compromises in mast handling and response.
For wave and freeride sails
The RDM version is particularly well suited to wave sails and many freeride models, where durability, smooth flex and comfortable handling matter most. The reduced diameter makes the mast easier to handle and gives it a compact feel that works well in a wide range of conditions.

Shark Skin - reduced friction on the mast surface
NeilPryde X50 RDM is finished with the Shark Skin surface texture. This low-friction finish helps prevent wet sail sleeve material from sticking to the mast surface. In use, it reduces friction and supports smoother sail rotation and easier rig handling.
