In 2018 Gaastra updated the whole range to keep up with the requirements of an evolving sport. The new Pure has received an injection of acceleration and top speed needed for modern power moves. A new clew cut out and redesigned leech twist also improve control and stability, making the sail super stable for World Champions as well as progressive learners wanting to get into the freestyle disciple.

MAST SLEEVE OPENING

The GA Silicon patch above the boom cutout opens the mast pocket just a little, allowing the rider to insert the mast with just one hand, without having to move up the luff.

2-PLY

In order to be able to reduce the weight of the sails, Gaastra developed a completely new range of laminate materials with a much thinner film supported by a double structure of fibers - a balanced scrim of fibers orientated in the warp that fit within a classic X-Ply angled series of fibers. From its structure, the name 2-Ply arose. GA has created a complex woven web with the highest durability that is also very lightweight. Besides the proven X-Ply, they use this laminate in the upper sail body to achieve minimal swing weight and protection of critical areas.

• Less weight: use of new 2-PLY laminate reduces the weight in the top area of the sail by more than 10%.
• Softer handling for better performance and comfort in gusts

POSI-LEECH

Updated for 2018 the Posi-Leech system now has a refined smooth cutout line to the first batten. Improving sail twist and response in all conditions.
