Built primarily for prone and swell-powered riding
This configuration is clearly oriented toward prone foiling and clean swell lines. It is designed for riders who prioritize fluid carving, natural speed carry and smooth transitions from section to section - without relying on powered input.
The CREST D/LAB provides agility and intuitive turning, while the Monobloc-Tail S maximizes glide and efficiency, making wave connections easier and more consistent.
How the CREST D/LAB front wing performs
The Crest D/LAB is engineered for instant response and fluid rail-to-rail carving. It maintains speed well thanks to efficient pumping and strong glide characteristics - key elements in prone sessions where maintaining momentum is critical.
A forgiving stall speed adds control when speed drops in weaker sections. The moustache-style curvature and upturned wingtips support smooth recovery after tip breaches, airs or foil slides, allowing fluid re-entry instead of abrupt loss of control.
What the Monobloc-Tail S adds for prone
The Monobloc-Tail S is specifically optimized for swell-powered riding. Its one-piece carbon tail and stabilizer design focuses on minimal drag and maximum efficiency. In practical terms, it delivers:
- Increased glide with the same wave energy
- Smooth, natural turning response
- Clean and stiff connection with fewer structural interfaces
The 40 cm tail results in a 63 cm total fuselage length, positioned in the performance “sweet spot” for prone riding. It balances agility and control without making the setup feel nervous.
D/LAB construction and feel
The Crest D/LAB features a low-drag construction with minimal visible hardware, supporting clean flow and reduced resistance.
The Monobloc-Tail S uses a computer-simulated D/LAB carbon layup combining HM and IM fibers to achieve a refined balance of flex, stiffness and durability - ideal for consistent wave performance.
Available front wing sizes
This setup is available with the following Crest D/LAB front wing sizes:
- 1050 cm² – More lift and easier speed retention, ideal for smaller waves and softer swell
- 925 cm² – Balanced glide and manoeuvrability for most conditions
- 800 cm² – Faster response and tighter turns for more dynamic prone carving
- 675 cm² – Highest speed and most agile feel for stronger waves and advanced riders
The rear wing in this configuration is always Monobloc-Tail S 40 cm / S160.
