Wing character
The Mantis 2026 is the sixth generation of one of Cabrinha’s most trusted wings. Its low dihedral, full powerful profile and medium aspect ratio provide stability, efficient drive and comfortable handling. The wing stays balanced when flagged out on a wave, while offering strong forward pull when needed in lighter wind.
On-water behaviour
The wing feels smooth, stiff and stable even with heavy depower. The low dihedral improves freefly control, while the progressive twist in the wingtips helps with sheeting and adds forgiveness during manoeuvres. The Mantis 2026 allows effortless surf riding as well as fully powered freeride sessions.
Control and boom
The wing comes standard with a composite boom, offering a wide range of grip positions, very direct handling and zero unwanted rotation. The rigid front handle provides precise control when the wing is flown neutral on the wave. Keylock attachment points prevent boom movement and keep control sharp throughout the full wind range.
Construction and materials
The Mantis 2026 uses the upgraded Airframe Inflation System, engineered for simplicity, durability and fast setup. The LE and strut structure remains stiff under load, while the Teijin D2 Ripstop canopy ensures long-term durability, UV resistance and clean canopy tension.
The Spanwise Panel Layout distributes load evenly, and the TE Load Distributor stabilises the trailing edge and protects it from abrasion when resting on the ground.
