Intended use
Aqua Marina BlueDrive K is designed for longer outings, especially for kayak and canoe users, but it can also be used with compatible SUP boards. It is a practical solution for anyone who wants to reduce fatigue during relaxed paddling, travel further, or have extra support in backup situations on the water.
The motor fits most SUP boards, kayaks, and other watercraft equipped with a Slide-In fin box. If your board uses a different fin box system, a compatible adapter is required.
External battery system
The key thing to know is that BlueDrive K is sold without a battery. This means you can choose the external 12V battery that best suits your needs. For short sessions, you can use a lighter battery. For longer trips, you can connect a higher-capacity battery and extend the running time of the system.
This gives you more flexibility than a closed system with one fixed battery option.
Performance and operation
BlueDrive K offers two forward speeds and one reverse gear. Low speed reaches up to 4 km/h, high speed up to 6 km/h, and reverse up to 1.8 km/h. This setup works well for recreational cruising on lakes, calm rivers, and bays, and also makes low-speed maneuvering easier when turning or approaching the shore.
The motor replaces the rear fin, and operation is controlled wirelessly with a remote placed in a waterproof armband case. This allows you to accelerate, slow down, and switch to reverse without having to reach down to the drive unit.
Construction and safety
The drive system uses a 360° water intake design, which supports efficient operation and smooth power delivery. An important safety feature is the leash with automatic shut-off. The power system stays connected to the user, so if you fall into the water, the motor switches off automatically. This is a simple but important solution that helps prevent the board or kayak from moving away on its own.
BlueDrive K is also relatively easy to transport. The full package weighs 5.0 kg gross, while the motor itself weighs 3.2 kg net. It is also approved for air travel, which can be useful if you plan to take it on trips abroad.
What is included in the set
The set includes the BlueDrive K motor, a wireless 4-button remote control, a waterproof armband case for the controller, and a safety leash with automatic shut-off.
Please note once again: the battery is not included in the set. The motor requires an external 12V battery, which must be purchased separately.
