RS:RACING EVO XIII builds on the success of the most winning sail of 2021.
With racing competition formats and courses evolving towards a mix of Slalom and Foiling, design team wanted to be sure to be ahead of the game last year, and the EVOXII delivered.
EVOXII won the 2021 IFCA World Championships with Enrico Marotti at the helm, the 2021 PWA Women's Slalom World Title with Sarah-Quita Offringa at the helm and the fastest speed at the Luderitz Speed Challenge with Hans Kreisel at the helm.
The final prototypes of EVOXIII powered Antoine Albeau to victory at the 2021 Defi Wind / PWA Superstars event.
EVOXIII keeps all the major aspects of the sail the same, the luff curve, sail shaping and main outline, but designers refined the foot of the sail to ensure complete closure of the gap between sail and board and slightly tweaked the leading edge to make the sail even more aerodynamic.

HIGHLIGHT TECHNOLOGY

QUADRUPLE LUFF PANEL LAYOUT
The EVOXIII features four continuous, durable, stretch-resistant and lightweight luff panels that carry most of the sail’s body shaping, covered by one oversized luff sleeve. This configuration stabilizes the critical section draft position while providing an increased film thickness proportional to the downhaul load distribution.
Continuous panels eliminate horizontal seams crossing the highly loaded leading edge, which increases response of the sail.

LEADING EDGE RIB
Carbon ribs sewn onto the upper sleeve’s leading edge stabilize this critical section of the profile on the highest battens where cambers are not used.
This helps maintain the sail’s profile clean, reducing drag, allowing higher top speed and ensuring proper rotation.

PROGRESSIVE HIGH ASPECT RATIO DESIGN
With the 2022 series of the RS: Racing EVO NeilPryde is introducing the high aspect ratio design that could already be found on the flight Evo. While the high aspect ratio is much more defined on the bigger sail sizes, it is less so defined on the smaller sizes. Thanks to this progressive high aspect ratio design, we are fully leveraging this design’s benefits. The sails become equally controllable on foil as well as on fin.
But what does high aspect mean for the sailor?
The high aspect ratio of the sail adds stability and helps to improve the stability of the sail, especially when foiling, this is important, as you don’t want any change in the position of the draft. As soon as the center of effort moves unpredictably, the stability of the flight gets interrupted.
HIGHER EFFICIENCY
Lift is created by the leading edge. On a high aspect sail, the leading edge is much longer relative to the sail size and this extra lift creates a more efficient sail for the rider. One of the major drag components is the tip vortex. On a high aspect ratio sail this is relatively less compared to the overall sail size, hence the effect is minimized. This allows the rider to reach a very stable high speed.
