Board character

Since the first generation, the Magic Ride has stood for effortless freeriding and smooth jibes. This latest version is faster, more responsive and noticeably more composed in chop. The board carves naturally, keeps speed through the turn and feels incredibly intuitive underfoot. Whether you are learning planing jibes or pushing into tighter, more dynamic carving, the Magic Ride makes every turn feel easy and predictable.

Construction

The board comes in two constructions, Wood Pro (WP) and ES, each with its own feel. Wood Pro is lighter, stiffer and more responsive, offering the most direct handling and also being foil approved. ES is the more durable everyday option, designed to cope with long-term use while staying comfortable and predictable. Both share a strong combination of paulownia, Innegra and glass reinforcements for long-lasting performance.

Shape and details

Magic Ride is built on a thin, wide platform that helps the board pop into planing with almost no effort. The stretched-out waterline makes early planing easier and improves tracking at higher speeds. The wide nose gives confidence at low speeds, while the wide tail releases water efficiently, reduces drag and improves control when fully powered.

The deck shape provides a comfortable stance in all footstrap configurations and makes getting in and out of the straps straightforward. Underneath, the pronounced V flow and double concave smooth out chop and help the board enter carving turns with very little input. This bottom shape delivers the lively, playful feel that defines the Magic Ride.

On the water

On the water, the Magic Ride feels light, natural and predictable. It reaches planing speed quickly and keeps it easily, even in gusty wind. The fin offers plenty of grip, allowing the board to fly comfortably and stay controlled at higher speeds. Jibing is where the board really shines: it initiates turns effortlessly and maintains speed until the very end of the carve. It is equally rewarding for intermediate riders who want to improve their jibes and advanced sailors aiming for dynamic carving.

Who is it for

This is a board for a wide range of freeriders. Intermediate sailors appreciate its forgiving nature and very early planing, while advanced riders enjoy its speed, responsiveness and energetic character. The Magic Ride 159 is ideal for riders stepping down from large beginner boards with a daggerboard and wanting a smooth transition into planing boards.

Differences in construction: Wood Pro vs ES

Wood Pro - this version is lighter, more responsive and has a noticeably more direct feel. The paulownia bottom sandwich, parabolic rail reinforcements and strong Innegra protection in the bow make the board stiff and lively. It also comes with a Foil-Powerbox, so you can mount a foil without hesitation. This is the choice for riders who want maximum performance, quick feedback and the option to foil.

ES - construction focuses on durability and comfort. Biax-Glass reinforcements, a significantly strengthened bow and a standard Powerbox create a robust build that can handle plenty of everyday use. It is slightly heavier, but very stable and predictable, making it ideal for riders who want a reliable all-round freeride board that performs well in all conditions.

Features

  • Earliest planing - the long waterline and wide tail help the board lift with minimal effort
  • Easy jibing - the bottom V and concaves keep the board smooth and controlled throughout the turn
  • Stable and predictable - the wide platform and even volume distribution provide a secure feel in any conditions
  • Lively, manoeuvrable character - the thin profile and V flow create a playful and energetic ride
  • Foil-ready option - the Wood Pro version comes with a Foil-Powerbox for easy entry into foiling
