By reducing the moving parts and making the boom from a single carbon tube, the boom's bendability is reduced and durability is improved. With a wider tail and R-Shape design, it is ideal for larger sails as it allows for a deeper profile. The Gaastra Carbon Race is available in 3 sizes, each with a unique shape, perfectly adapted to each surfer's needs. The boom is made entirely of carbon fiber, so it weighs only 3kg (size 180-230) while remaining extremely stiff. The use of top quality materials increases the responsiveness of the thruster and makes it easier to maintain an optimal sail profile. The larger diameter of the boom makes it stiffer and more durable.
